Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Amazing narration
Revisado: 01-22-25
The main narrator was quite animated especially during the more intense parts of the book. I enjoyed listening and would do it again.

Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

A story you must follow through until the very end.
Revisado: 10-08-24
The story starts off being very happy, all flowers and sunshine. Once you stick through the brunt of the first quarter of the book, things start to get interesting. It only continues to do so along with making you think of the many conclusions that could possibly be prior to the end. This is one of those stories that you must stick to until the end, because nothing’s ever the way it seems until you get a definitive answer. Major props to narrator. She did a terrific job with emulating the different voices to match the characters. I really loved the narration most near the end when a particular character goes sinister. It really went hand-in-hand with my imagination as I was listening. Overall, I loved it. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a bit of a psychological thriller.

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Recommended By My Therapist
Revisado: 08-12-23
It was just as great listening to the book as it was reading it. My therapist said that a big contribution to the way he helped his clients was through this book. He even spoke similarly as the wise man. I might end up listening to this again to pick out other things I might've missed. Overall, amazing book.

Historia
As the commercialization of American higher education accelerates, more and more students are coming to college with the narrow aim of obtaining a preprofessional credential. The traditional four-year college experience—an exploratory time for students to discover their passions and test ideas and values with the help of teachers and peers—is in danger of becoming a thing of the past. In College, prominent cultural critic Andrew Delbanco offers a trenchant defense of such an education, and warns that it is becoming a privilege reserved for the relatively rich.

A great listen for those pursuing higher education
Revisado: 07-23-23
I was required to finish this book for graduate school, and I actually took away more than I thought from it. From my prior experiences in education, I have heard things very similar to what's been referred throughout the book. It partially confirms everything I've thought about education while teaching me many historical contexts I wasn't aware of. Definitely worth listening more than once.

Historia
Adult ADHD can affect men in different ways. Men may experience it in various ways, and its symptoms can be more challenging to detect. Men with ADHD are often overlooked, leaving many who are struggling with their abilities to feel isolated or confused about what they're experiencing. While the underlying mechanisms of ADHD are still being studied, it is thought that the male brain may process information differently than the female brain, which could account for some of these differences. This audiobook was written for men who think they have ADHD or have been diagnosed with it.

Would Listen Again
Revisado: 07-19-23
As a young adult, I took a lot away from this. There were things I knew as much as things I didn't know. The narrator was pretty good despite having to speed up to (x1.5) but no complaints overall. I will definitely listen again in hopes that I hear something I missed the previous time.
