Historia
You mean this place we go to five days a week has a history? Cubed reveals the unexplored yet surprising story of the places where most of the world's work - our work - gets done. From "Bartleby the Scrivener" to The Office, from the steno pool to the open-plan cubicle farm, Cubed is a fascinating, often funny, and sometimes disturbing anatomy of the white-collar world and how it came to be the way it is - and what it might become.

Decent from a historical perspective but retelling of Hollywood movie plots negatively affects overall quality

Did not learn a thing ...
Revisado: 05-14-14
in the first half of the book. Out of a few hundred audiobooks, I've only been unable to complete a book a couple of times. Horrible narration. Content was lacking any importance or of any interest.
How did Cubed get published? The author must be a good salesman. I suggest a career change.

Historia
Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Not for me.
Revisado: 08-12-13
The writing and the performance seemed juvenile. Only the 3rd book I have ever started and not finished. And I gave Joe Hill's Horns 5 stars. This one just seemed wrong on too many levels. Most importantly, the character development was just not there. Did not care about any character nor where the plot was going.
Seems like I'm in the minority with my opinion on this one.

Historia
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.

An incredible story and written (and read) in a very engaging fashion. They don't get much better than this one.

I'm not a runner.

Very, very informative and entertaining listen. I play squash and have always purchased cheap running shoes. Not sure I do this for the right reasons, but glad that I do.

In the late summer of a long-ago year, Alton Turner Blackwood brutally murdered four families. Where has Dean Koontz gone?
Revisado: 08-29-11
I read approx. 50 books/year and can count on 1 hand the number of books that I have not completed. Add this one though. Poor effort in every respect other than the narrator does a good job, with what he has to work with.
