Historia
Most people think that being prepared for catastrophe means stocking up on MREs and building a bunker in their backyard, but this approach leaves you vulnerable in the real world of car accidents, natural disasters, grid failures, and global pandemics. Prepared overturns today’s paranoid survival wisdom and teaches the foundational skills of preparedness that will not only help you build situational awareness and achieve greater mobility but that will also help you build resilient mental habits.

An OK Overview
Revisado: 11-16-24
Mike Glover does a fair job providing the highlights but little in the way of details. if you want a short primer on preparedness, this book might be for you. If you already have begun your preparations and want more meat, look elsewhere.

Historia
In 2020, the world as we knew it changed. For close to two years, people were socially isolated. Many of us lost the art of human face-to-face connections that lead to the development of close intimate relationships. In Relational Intelligence, Dr. Adam C. Bandelli outlines the five essential skills that can help you reconnect with others and build strong, long-lasting relationships. Drawing on research from the fields of psychology, sociology, and behavioral science, he explains why these skills are necessary tools for building a life of joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment.

Too much 'Woke' no enough meat
Revisado: 02-24-24
I was looking for a good overview of relationship fundamentals but several chapters in the trendy falsehoods of DEI reared their nasty little heads. Gladly, diversity of opinion was described as a good thing. Overall, DEI destroys teams by focusing on externals rather than focusing on subjective individual differences which add actual power to teams when unity is fostered via true leadership Vs. management. DEI is inherently racist and exist, focusing on unchangeable and irrelevant characteristics in stereotypical ways rather than focusing on people as people and not simply clones which must conform to a social construct. It's too bad the author has spent a career spreading false information and wasting corporations money disenfranchised people from building cohesive and productive working relationships based on competence, trust and selflessness.

Historia
Ezra Taft Benson is perhaps the most controversial apostle-president in the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For nearly 50 years, he delivered impassioned sermons in Utah and elsewhere, mixing religion with ultraconservative right-wing political views and conspiracy theories. His teachings inspired Mormon extremists to stockpile weapons, predict the end of the world, and commit acts of violence against their government.

Saturated with Errors
Revisado: 02-15-23
While I was expecting a fair appraisal of the books subject, what I read was rather an extremely biased outlook on conservatism, patriotism, and an originalist understanding of constitutional principles of limited government.
The book did provide an insight into the decay within LDS church clergy and administration and the slide into mediocrity and tyrannical socialist programs effectively legalizing theft via taxation.

Historia
The Garden in Eden was filled with fruit-producing trees, sprouting plants and grasses, and gently flowing rivers. Adam, G-d's chosen king/priest, was called to cultivate the garden's fertile soil, to guard the sacred space from external enemies, and to rule over the Earth. After breaking covenant with YHWH, his king, Adam was banished to the field, a place of thorns and thistles, where he became a slave to the earth. The Temple Revealed in the Garden: Priests and Kings examines the Garden story from an ancient Near East perspective.

Not much voice inflection but the content is interesting and important enough to plow through.

Historia
From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.
