Historia
In Doomsday: Apocalypse, book one of the Doomsday series, it was New Year's Eve. As the ball dropped in Times Square, Americans were preparing for a new year and a bright future. Instead, they found themselves fighting for their lives as the fuse had been lit that sent the country into chaos. With political rancor at an all-time high, the war of words escalated, and a political war erupted. Americans were caught in the crosshairs of societal unrest and a shadowy group stoking the fires of discontent burning in America.

Pretty good listen, with some plot holes.
Revisado: 02-01-19
My main gripe with the first installment in this series is the technical plot holes. Kingda Ka does not have emergency brakes onboard the train, and the magnetic eddy-current breaks do not cease to function during a power outage. These mechanisms use permanent magnets to slow the train, and are therefore not dependent on power. The technical fudge serves the plot, but for those of us that are technically-minded, it also somewhat ruins it for us. In the real event of a power outage while Kingda Ka crests the top hat, the ride would proceed normally until the break run, being slowed appropriately.
If you can set aside the technical issues, it's a decent listen, and despite the technical failures, I'm looking forward to the next installment.
