Much more to Erebus than the Franklin Expedition

Like so many others, I had only known of the HMS Erebus because of the Franklin Expedition. I loved that Palin went to such great lengths to document what life was like onboard the ship during her Antarctic voyage. It helps to fill in some of the void as to what it must have been like for the men when they voyaged into the North. Highly recommended.

I don’t know why the White House is so upset with Bob Woodward’s new book "Fear." By focusing on day to day minutia behind the scenes in lieu of the big brash public scandals, Woodward actually manages to make the Trump administration look like it actually knows what it’s doing occasionally.

The only complaint I have is that, unlike the administration that it documents, the book doesn't go on nearly long enough.

Making particle physics easy to understand

Very impressed with the way Professor Carroll distilled some complicated subjects into easy to understand terms. I'm happy to have a much better understanding of the relationship between mass and energy, as well as the importance of fields over particles.
