Historia
Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman. His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself in possession of 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

This story has no right being this GOOD.
Revisado: 03-20-25
This book was freaking fantastic. It starts slow, with the main character being EXTREMELY paranoid and it ends with all the paranoia being COMPLETELY justified. The MC starts out pathetic, weak and cowardly but through non-stop unfortunate events is forced to change for better or worse (I am leaning worse because this level of torture tends to have negative effects on your mind). I don't want to get into specifics but the book ends with one hell of a climax. After everything that the MC went through I just HAVE to know what happens in the next book. The reckoning some characters are in for is going to be satisfying.

Historia
Belissar has always lived a peaceful life, if not a particularly easy one. Though he lost his parents, he was taken in by a kindly villager who taught him his life's calling: beekeeping. But one day the local lord's ruthless son, Ruckanos, comes to their humble village to claim his own tower, slaughtering everyone. Luckily for Belissar, as he lies dying with an arrow in his back, a tiny worker bee decides to interfere, and he wakes up not only alive but a whole new bee-ing.

The MC starts off PAINFULLY ignorant. It was almost bad enough that I nearly put this down. HOWEVER, his ignorance is a plot point that does get addressed and after that I had no complaints what-so-ever.

Syl was given a choice by Gramps when they died. Reincarnate as a regular person or embark on a daring experiment. Driven by a desire to honor Gramps and a sense of adventure, Syl chose the latter... only to awaken as a lowly slime. A farmed slime. The life of a farmed slime was cruel. Syl was constantly at the mercy of humans, a slime whose only purpose was to eat and recycle garbage. The threat of lethal core-destroying knives wielded by innocent children was a constant shadow. This was not the life Syl had envisioned. So, they made a daring escape to the wilderness!

I want more monster litrpg titles like this one.
Revisado: 02-16-25
This book was fantastic. I hope for a new one sooner rather than later. There is constant progression and playing around with skills/traits which is what I love. Thank God there is also no imminent crisis making fake stakes like some kind of corruption, soul demon or the like. Just skills, exploration and fun. I would love a bit more intrigue but otherwise I can't complain.

My name is James Thorne, and I wasn't supposed to matter. Before the invasion, I was just a guy in a dead-end job, keeping my head down and my past buried. The Gehenna want our annihilation. Thankfully, they angered the Aetherion who may help humanity not only fight back, but turn the tide. When I’m offered the chance to be Cleansed, to become something more than I was, I take it. And it turns out I’m special. No, I’m not the Chosen One. And yes, there are others like me, but as a Psyker, I can do things most can't. Things that make me very dangerous.

Revisado: 02-11-25
So this audiobook is okay. There isn't anything WRONG with it but... it just fails to deliver on the parts I was most interested in. SO the big issue I have with this story is that it skips the parts I would have found interesting. Testing powers during downtime? Skipped. Testing new weapons? Skipped. Finally getting that hyped up armor and excited to see how it changes things? Skipped. This story doesn't like to play with it toys. They will explain the buffs that the alien tech provides but skip all the fun parts of the characters learning to USE them or, experiencing what it's like to first put the armor on, which fails to make the new gear seem any better. This story suffers from a HARD case of tell, don't show. The main characters talk like they had a ton of fun experimenting with their new skills and toys but it's all done "off screen."

If you liked the books before this one then you will be happy. The biggest issue I have is how much this book focuses on relationships and got a bit too sexual for my tastes.

Loved it!
Revisado: 09-04-24
So I turned the last 3/4 of this book into a horror story by listening to "Horus | Dark Ambient Music for Painting, Reading, Relaxing," on Youtube. It COMPLETELY changed the vibe. I recommend listening to some dark ambient music or something horror tinted the moment it starts to rain in the books. It makes it 100% more intense.

just as good as the other two books.
Revisado: 08-05-24
If you want more of the Elysium's Multiverse then you will get it in book 3. It's just as good as the last two. I do have a single gripe. I listen to a lot of litrpgs and I have to admit that I am EXTREMELY fatigued by the slow corruption gimik. Either it's an eldritch horror in your soul, slowly changing due to some unexplained illness or a constant struggle of willpower to overcome some corrupting skill. I am a little tired of it.

Historia
It was just supposed to be a quick trip to the pet store for some cat food, but the universe had other plans for Florence Valentine. Good for nothing kids and some annoying store employees were giving her a hard time, and then things got worse when she was killed by a delivery truck. Instead of angels, pearly gates, and eternal rewards, a voice in her head keeps telling her that she’s become a dungeon core, whatever that is.

I absolutely hate the MC.
Revisado: 07-04-24
I first have to say, this narrator REALLY sells the main character. I have never hated a character more than this. The Core is an old cat lady with ZERO flexibility, ZERO patience, ZERO intellect and completely unlikable. Imagine the most obstinate 80 year old Karen that has never touched anything more advanced than a tube television while never reading a book in her life.
She will do the exact opposite of whatever anyone asks and, doesn't listen to ANY advice because she thinks she knows best. Every decision she makes is either out of spite or complete ignorance despite her advisor having the knowledge to help. They constantly give advice that is ignored or the bad is option taken because "how dare he tell ME what to do," or "how dare he raise his voice to me." I got 6 hours in and I still hated the main character.

Historia
Ryan lived his life on Earth trapped in his own body. The doctors couldn't explain what was happening to him, but slowly, his body was crystallizing. Then, a portal opened up on the ceiling of his hospital room. He'd seen that one in enough anime to recognize what was happening. It couldn't possibly be worse than the hell that was his life on Earth, not that he was given any choice.

Too much horny
Revisado: 06-18-24
The title of this review says it all. The main character is too horny and the story focuses too much on it with WAY too many conversations about taking the MC's virginity and two girls LITERALLY fighting over it, It makes me cringe.
They are also kind of retarded. It started off well but they have HARDCORE trust issues that prevents them from taking advantage of ANY of the benefits available.

He unlocks a unique Berserker skill—the more damage he takes, the stronger he gets.

Revisado: 05-27-24
I went into this book with no expectations. I was looking for something new to listen to while I wait for other audiobooks to drop. I am quite happy that I did! It has enough character growth to keep me interested and the MC comes across as very reasonable while also not trying to talk everyone down and explain why we should all get along.
