Historia
Death is undeniable and unavoidable. We must accept it; there is no other choice. But coming to terms with our mortality can profoundly influence how we live—and how we die. Having been a hospice nurse for decades, Penny Hawkins Smith is an expert on death and dying. As a recovering alcoholic and former drug addict, she knows what it means to change course and become a meaningful contributor to society. Through her work with death, Penny found her purpose in life. In Influencing Death, Penny brings transparency and levity to the grim topic of death.

The humor surrounding death. It's death folks. Happens to us all might as well laugh about!

Penny, WOW. This is amazing. As a CNA for the past 20 years I understood 90% of what you were saying and have used a lot of your methods and knowledge myself in the past years. I learned a few things along the way too. I have now changed career fields due to my back not handling the caregiving push and pull anymore but I will never forget the clients I have taken care of most of which to their dying days. I love the humor! Most people don't get the dark humor but that's about the only way I've learned to cope. Hope you write more! I'd love to write my own memoir someday maybe!

Historia
In October 1997, the town of Ringgold, Georgia, was shaken by reports of a murder in its midst. A dead woman was found in Alvin Ridley's house—and even more shockingly, she was the wife no one knew he had.

Ok listen I don't read. I can say I've only read one book that I recall the past 10+ years. I even cheated a bit on this one and listened to a man read it to me on the Audible App. Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom Book by McCracken Poston Jr. I've heard about Mr. McCracken Poston over the years, have seen recent posts about said book on FB, and well most of you know we live close enough to Ringgold to know locations and names in the book. I must say it is a MUST READ/LISTEN TO! I giggled, laughed out loud, smirked, teared up, and even at some points had tears come out of my eyes. Great job Mr. Poston and @Alvin Ridley(tagged purposely like he has a FB ha, ha, ha NOT), I'm so happy for you although this took place many years ago and God Speed! As someone who loves the elderly, disabled, or anyone with a "difference" (for lack of better words). My career the past 20+ years in caregiving has taught me to love these people with a HUGE heart. Alvin Ridley now has such a special place in my heart.
P.S. Mr. Poston if you ever read this I would LOVE to join you and Mr. Ridley for lunch any day of the week!
