Historia
This gripping story of courage and achievement is the account of Robert Falcon Scott's last fateful expedition to the Antarctic, as told by surviving expedition member Apsley Cherry-Garrard. Cherry-Garrard, whom Scott lauded as a tough, efficient member of the team, tells of the journey from England to South Africa and southward to the ice floes. From there began the unforgettable polar journey across a forbidding and inhospitable region.

The work that went into this book
Revisado: 04-13-25
You have to be in the mindset for a very detailed story that combines diary entries from many parties. If you get into it and put yourself there as I did all winter in Vermont to pull me through like a sledge, it is like losing a friend when you get to the end.

Revisado: 05-20-23
This books teaches northing about AI. It's just a rant about everything the author is against. I wish I had paid with a credit so I could get my money back.

Historia
The Other End of the Leash shares a revolutionary new perspective on our relationship with dogs, focusing on our behavior in comparison with that of dogs. An applied animal behaviorist and dog trainer with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Patricia McConnell looks at humans as just another interesting species, and muses about why we behave the way we do around our dogs, how dogs might interpret our behavior, and how to interact with our dogs in ways that bring out the best in them.

Could be great with a little less about the author
Revisado: 04-29-19
Other reviewer said this is well, the author almost seems to be defending her credibility to write this book. So much of the book was useful, but it took a very strong stomach keep hearing about her academic proficiency. It would do her well to do a rewrite and take most of that out, it belongs on the jacket of the book

Historia
Dogs have been mankind's faithful companions for tens of thousands of years, yet today they are regularly treated as either pack-following wolves or furry humans. The truth is, dogs are neither - and our misunderstanding has put them in serious crisis. What dogs really need is a spokesperson, someone who will assert their specific needs.

This is more like a textbook

Incredibly boring. And I don’t think I learned anything new. It’s one premise followed by a bunch of studies, repeat. If I were to summarize this book I would say this is a book about what different people think about dogs without drawing any conclusions.

Great but without perspective
Revisado: 02-13-18
Amazing woman, amazing book. Her complete ignorance of her entitlement in various passages is really painful to listen to. Things like taking hours to prepare for a party for president when there was a whole team of people who are actually doing all the work. Still the description of those years of politics and some of the amazing things she accomplished are worthy a lot of respect and she’s a lot more honest about her mistakes than any man would ever be.

Historia
Black Ops Advertising dissects this rapid rise of "sponsored content," a strategy whereby advertisers have become publishers and publishers create advertising - all under the guise of unbiased information. Covert selling, mostly in the form of native advertising and content marketing, has so blurred the lines between editorial content and marketing message that it is next to impossible to tell real news from paid endorsements.

Stealthy Title Is as Tricky as the Tactics it Attacks
Revisado: 04-11-17
Started off with excellent information about how digital ads workin a number of different contexts.
Then it morphed into a strong editorial opinion, poorly documented, generalizing unethical practices as something every publisher does with joy.
It finishes with one of the most self complementary autobiographical diatribes, proclaiming everyone should be stuck in the past like the author, and suggesting all of the public is too dumb to know the difference between an ad and a story.
Simply not worth reading another word after the halfway point.
