Despite the group’s warm welcome, Kina (Nayfack) prepares for her life-altering operation all alone. Historia
On a cool evening in Kolkata, India, beneath a full moon, as the whirling rhythms of traveling musicians fill the night, college professor Alok encounters a mysterious stranger with a bizarre confession and an extraordinary story. Tantalized by the man's unfinished tale, Alok will do anything to hear its completion. So Alok agrees, at the stranger's behest, to transcribe a collection of battered notebooks, weathered parchments, and once-living skins.

Fantastic queer fantasy story!
Revisado: 10-30-22
I loved listening this queer and beastly story set in colorful India. It is so imaginative and new yet keeps with some classic fantasy themes. This author does use the words "shit" and "piss" a number of times but it works with the animalistic themes which the book is mostly about. I can see how those words would be unnerving to some readers if they are not familiar with the queer and kink scenes in their own lives.

New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

Phenomenal!
Revisado: 09-01-22
This is a phenomenal audiobook! Gaiman's diverse and colorful characters really come to life in this telling of the story. I love the inclusion of Wanda - a strong trans woman. I think that this audiobook is just as good as the graphic novel.

Definitely a must for anyone with a trans lovedone
Revisado: 09-16-21
This book is a really clear and concise way to learn about the life of a trans person. My mom started reading this book to learn more after I came out as trans and I started reading it too. As a trans person myself I thought that this book was well written. It does mostly focus on trans men and women and not so much on trans identifying non-binary people.

Revisado: 06-23-21
The narrator was hard to get used to but this is such an amazing book! I've been poly for years now and I still learned new things. I'm going to get a physical copy so that I can easily flip to the different sections whenever I need to.
