Hate/prejudice is a powerful motivator, but not always the right motivator.
Revisado: 08-02-24
The storyline could easily be best seller or made into a TV/movie series. The plot twists and turns seemingly leading you down a conclusive path. As you near the end to finding a killer another twist occurs and another path becomes evident. Add money, drugs, mafia, lesbians, politics, and bad cops. You have a very complex storyline that brings intrigue and a need to read the next page in hopes your questions will be answered. I look forward to the next in the series.

The Black Dragon, survivor of injustice, heroine to many.
Revisado: 07-23-24
Ali Vali does it again; a great storyline with twists and turns leaving the reader to wonder where the next plot will take them. Having served it is wonderful to read about a strong, dedicated fearless woman who believes in and trusts her orders to justify her actions and her sloe. Not once does the major claim victory or cheers her success, only knows the world is a better place with one less scum bag to manipulate and cause chaos amongst out neighbors. You may know the ending, but the path getting there will be a journey. I hope Ms Vali will continue the legacy of the Dragon tree and the Dark Dragon.

Asked what stood out the most, my answer can only be the entire story line.
Revisado: 07-14-24
The read was like a dance. Full of simple waltzes, to sultry tangos. The Royals taught us how Royalty can fall for commoners. But, can a sitting American President be bi-sexual and fall for another American of the same gender? If so, what would happen com re-election? Humm. Interesting questions with many avenues to travel How would the secret service handle the relationship. Presidential deals with these questions and several others in a unique and interesting way. Add in politics and a little attitude and you have a great read. I’m hoping for a second term and a second book.

I love this series, and you will too.
Revisado: 07-19-23
Whether you read the series in order or out of sequence, they are light reading and very enjoyable. The characters are well structured and mature with reach additional series. They aren’t a who done it, but rather problems that need solutions. The problems are believable, possibly something similar to one you have experienced. The solutions, like real life aren’t necessarily easy, but are workable. Read and enjoy.

Wonderful story, but the narration by Nicola Victoria Vincent was like running a marathon.
Revisado: 05-01-22
Cari Hunter is a wonderful author with tremendous Talley for creating great characters and plots. It’s a shame Nicola Victoria Vincent read the story creating run on sentences. The announcements of the start or a new chapter was connected to the last sentence from the previous chapter. The was no pause, breath, anything for listeners to transition into the new chapter. I enjoy fast moving books, but, I’m exhausted from this one. Again, the plot and characters were great; should I decide to pick it up again, I think it will be an e-book or paperback but not audible with this narrator.

Historia
Erin Wade's historical lesbian novel is set in West Texas where cattle and oil were king and men were masters of their fate. A woman didn't have a chance of making it in the straight-shooting, fast-riding, hard-drinking world of the Texas cowboy...or did she? A novel about a love so forbidden, it wasn't even whispered. A heroine so unlikely, she wasn't believed.

Revisado: 04-10-22
For those of you who may consider putting this down after reading a few chapters, DON’T! This read has all the feelings previously mentioned and more. “But it’s not a lesbian…”. READ THE BOOK! You will be glad you did. This author knows how to spin a good read. The narrator is excellent at bringing it to life. I will enjoy listening to, or reading, additional stories written by this author.

Another excellent read/listen. I have pondered this review as I neared the epilogue.
Revisado: 02-28-22
I can only shake my head in wonderment. It is like she casts a spell that opens your mind to travel through black holes much like this storyline. It is mystic, fascinating, and completely enjoyable. “Turbulent Waves” begins where “Beneath the Waves” left off, but you do not have to read the first book (but I highly recommend you do). This is another exciting book about Atlantis and the melding of different cultures and societies. The characters are strong and grow with their choices and experiences. There are protagonists and antagonists. I hope Ms Vali moves these two books from individual story lines to a series. She has a great gift which many will enjoy.

I have always loved the water from a young age. When I wasn’t in it or near it I could feel an agitation in my soul. I am a Cancer so it would only make sense, right? “Beneath the Waves” brought back youthful memories and the wonders of water. The characters aren’t perfect, but have faults you can relate too, and some you might not be able to understand; but they will keep your attention. I have read and/or listened to many of Ali Vali’s books and never been disappointed. You will not be disappointed.

Revisado: 07-24-20
The complexity of the characters in this book were well thought out and developed. Ms. Vali’s research into several aspects of the book is detected in the scenes, characters, and flow of each chapter. There is turbulence which will have the reader not wanting to put the book down without knowing the outcome. It is a great read and will grab and keep your attention. The only question I have is, “When will the sequel come out? “

Expertly written; Narration was superb varying voices, tones, etc to identify each character.
Revisado: 06-20-20
Having served in the military (although not the Navy) this plot drew my attention. From the turmoil of 911, to the hunt and death of Bin Laden, to the current day COVID pandemic, the world as I knew it has changed more than our ancestors would probably dream of. This plot and the characters portrayed could easily be a premonition of what our future may hold. Ms. Vali has developed each character with the necessary backbone, military bearing, and romantic civility to create an outstanding story. I would have enjoyed Captain Sullivan have a deeper voice but that would have been my personal military preference. The world is changing, enjoy “Blue Skies” and pray our military and leaders don’t.
