Get ready to forget everything you've ever been told about the "comfort zone." It's not a place where you sit complacently because you can't be bothered to take action. It's not a barrier blocking you from the life of your dreams. Instead, it's the truest source of growth, possibility, and joy-and it's within your reach with help from an expert guide.

Not great
Revisado: 03-27-24
There was a little bit, that I could say was insightful, from this book.
I feel the narrator was a terrible pick, they would be fine narrating girls teen fiction maybe, but awful for a self help book...
The "story" has many flaws as it leads by knocking on all the sayings about hard work and being uncomfortable, only to digress the statements in the next chapter. It continues to have this flip flop attitude throughout.

Historia
Many famed music producers are known for a particular sound that has its day. Rick Rubin is known for something else: creating a space where artists of all different genres and traditions can home in on who they really are and what they really offer. He has made a practice of helping people transcend their self-imposed expectations in order to reconnect with a state of innocence from which the surprising becomes inevitable. Over the years, he has learned that being an artist isn’t about your specific output, it’s about your relationship to the world.

interesting, but difficult to maintain focus.
Revisado: 02-08-24
An interesting book but, the narration is too slow and monotone for my taste. I think the attempt is to sound meditative/relaxing. For me, that makes it difficult to pay attention, when it almost sounds like the narrator is sleepy/bored...

Historia
What makes good people do bad things? How can moral people be seduced to act immorally? Where is the line separating good from evil, and who is in danger of crossing it? Social psychologist Philip Zimbardo has the answers. He explains how - and the myriad reasons why - we are all susceptible to the lure of "the dark side". Drawing on examples from history as well as his own trailblazing research, Zimbardo details how situational forces and group dynamics can make monsters out of decent men and women.

Not what I expected.
Revisado: 11-28-23
The first part of the book was interesting and thought provoking, as to how and why people behave the way they do. However, the second half felt more like the author's personal soap box to argue his political stance, in so much as he spent a lot of time "playing judge" against certain people of power, rather than really digging into the psychology of evil further.

The Last Unicorn is one of fantasy’s most revered classics, beloved by generations of readers and with millions of copies in print. Revisiting the world of that novel, Beagle’s long-awaited Hugo and Nebula-Awards-winning “Two Hearts” introduced the irrepressible Sooz on a quest to save her village from a griffin, and explored the bonds she formed with unforgettable characters like the wise and wonderful Molly Grue and Schmendrick the Magician.

Absolute disappointment
Revisado: 08-04-23
For the most part, from the world of "The Last Unicorn", feels more like a way to lure fans in, only to utterly disappoint. The story in the second part is confusing, boring, and nothing about the way it's even written reminds me of "The Last Unicorn". Nothing more than a money grab... Enjoyed the narrator though.

Inconsistencies
Revisado: 05-31-23
The books are fairly entertaining, for children's books.
However, there are inconsistencies throughout the series, most notably in Princess Ozma's origin.
The largest complaint I have, with this particular collection of the Oz series is, there's at least one book completely out of order.
There are a few times where the narrator confuses character voices, but there are a lot of characters throughout the series. Other than that, I enjoyed the narrator.

A Book that Made Me a Better Person
- De Jeff Diamond en 03-29-13
I don't like abridged books, this is the exception
Revisado: 11-16-22
Normally, I don't think books should be abridged, however large parts of this book was near aganoy. The author pauses the actual story, continuously, to go on rants about a good many things, that have little to no value to the story. I enjoyed the actual story a lot, but all the unnecessary explanation, and opinions of long gone French politics were unbearable...

Wit and madness
Revisado: 09-09-20
The performance of of the reader was good.
The story was a mixture of enjoyment and boredom.
Don Quixote's madness is so ridiculous that It was a chore to read those parts. Furthermore, a large portion of the book is madness in its own right; as it is riddled full of hypocrisies. On the other hand, The wit within was quite enjoyable.

Historia
Labeled variously a realistic story of whaling, a romance of unusual adventure and eccentric characters, a symbolic allegory, and a drama of heroic conflict, Moby Dick is first and foremost a great story. It has both the humor and poignancy of a simple sea ballad, as well as the depth and universality of a grand odyssey.

Well written, disappointment.
Revisado: 08-04-20
The book was well written. However, much of it feels like a history or science of whaling, rather than a story. Where there was story, it was a pleasure to hear, save the end. Without spoiling anything, I would say, it was anticlimactic.
