Historia
Jason has a problem. He doesn't remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she's his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they're all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for "bad kids." What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea—except that everything seems very wrong.

Where did they get these narrators
Revisado: 02-25-24
Such a good book. Unfortunately I had to go to the library and get the physical copy because I couldn’t stand the narrators for Piper and Leo. Both sounded like they had no narration experience and Piper’s narrator was so annoying I couldn’t make it through five minutes of her speaking. A real shame because Jason was great! Just not worth the money in my opinion because the other two sounded like fourth graders doing a book report.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Historia
In the summer of 1942, the Rabinowitz family narrowly escaped the Nazi ghetto in their Polish town by fleeing to the forbidding Bialowieza Forest. They miraculously survived two years in the woods—through brutal winters, Typhus outbreaks, and merciless Nazi raids—until they were liberated by the Red Army in 1944. After the war, they trekked across the Alps into Italy, where they settled as refugees before eventually immigrating to the United States.

Revisado: 09-09-21
Wonderfully written and beautifully read, Frankel’s work is inspiring and intense. The narrative is compelling and the story well composed- great read, totally recommend to anyone else interested in hidden Holocaust stories like this one! Loved the extra inclusion of real-life interviews, so interesting and unique. Bravo!
