After receiving unexpected inheritance from her grandfather, Mercy and her twin sister Lizzie are now the proud owners of a charming antique bookshop in the tiny Irish village of Shamrock Cove. But before they can take in the beautiful view of the sea, one of their neighbors drops dead! Mercy finds the Judge, a well-respected man who lives next door, dying on his own doorstep. She rushes to help, but with his final words, he accuses Mercy of murder! Boring
Revisado: 03-25-25
The two main character women were immature drama queens and the Lizzie ‘baby girl voice was extremely annoying. Fast forwarded thru most of it just to see who the murderer was. Oh, and the motive for the murder was ridiculous.

Historia
Anthony Shackleford had long been acquainted with the word duty. Indeed, since the moment he could walk, it had been drummed into him every Friday between the hours of two and four in the afternoon, accompanied by tea and apple cake. His mother had always been especially partial to apple cake. The essence of his obligation was this. The Duke of Blackmore could not be expected to keep his in-laws into their twilight years. Despite the fact that his sisters had all made extremely advantageous marriages, as the only son, it was his job to ensure his parents a comfortable dotage.

Tory is a mess
Revisado: 02-02-25
Loved everything about this story except for the main character, Tory. She is a self indulgent, immature, overly dramatic, alcoholic slob. Her character is impossible to like or believe a character like Noah would ever bother with her.

Historia
March, 1815. The Bourbon King Louis XVIII has been restored to the throne of France, Napoleon is in exile on the isle of Elba, and Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, and his wife, Hero, have traveled to Paris in hopes of tracing his long-lost mother, Sophie, the errant Countess of Hendon. But his search ends in tragedy when he comes upon the dying Countess in the wasteland at the tip of the Île de la Cité. Stabbed—apparently with a stiletto—and thrown from the bastions of the island's ancient stone bridge, Sophie dies without naming her murderer.

Historia
Melanie Trenholm should be anticipating Christmas with nothing but joy - after all, it’s only the second Christmas she and her husband, Jack, will celebrate with their twin toddlers. But the ongoing excavation of the centuries-old cistern in the garden of her historic Tradd Street home has been a huge millstone, both financially and aesthetically. Local students are thrilled by the possibility of unearthing more Colonial-era artifacts at the cistern, but Melanie is concerned by the ghosts connected to it that have suddenly invaded her life and her house.

New main character, Please!
Revisado: 11-19-19
Melanie needs to go. She is still the most self absorbed, jealous, childish, vain, dense, downright unlikable character in these books. I keep wishing a spirit would suck her down the cistern in the backyard and leave her sister Jane to take over. The stories are well written but I can't get over the obnoxious behavior of this main character, and how all the other characters constantly cater to her. The author seems obsessed with constantly placating, this narcissistic woman, which takes away from the story.
Also, the narrator tends to be whiny. Shannon McManus would do a better job.
