Good read. Not an instruction manual, though it sometimes tries to be. More of a biography with technique tips mixed in.

Historia
There are 168 hours in a week. This book is about where the time really goes, and how we can all use it better. It's an unquestioned truth of modern life: we are starved for time. With the rise of two-income families, extreme jobs, and 24/7 connectivity, life is so frenzied we can barely find time to breathe. We tell ourselves we'd like to read more, get to the gym regularly, try new hobbies, and accomplish all kinds of goals.

Good enough
Revisado: 08-11-20
Not a lot of groundbreaking information was in here. Though, it was full of solid time management tips. While it never explicitly says so, it get more like a book for working moms than anyone else. There are great lessons for everyone, she just hears most of her examples in that direction. Solid listen, no regrets. Not in love with it. Also, probably 2 hours longer than the information inside needed.

Historia
Current events have deep roots, and the key to navigating today’s roiling policies lies in the events that started it all — the 2008 economic crisis and its aftermath. Despite initial attempts to downplay the crisis as a local incident, what happened on Wall Street beginning in 2008 was, in fact, a dramatic caesura of global significance that spiraled around the world, from the financial markets of the UK and Europe to the factories and dockyards of Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.

It was good. But, it could have been so much shorter. It was not helped by the best pieces being in the front of the book.

So much hype
Revisado: 07-04-18
This book is has full chapters dedicated to telling you how good the advice it is about to give you is. It belabors the point at every opportunity. It also makes the assumption that you hate your job, so many strategies are based around that for some. This is a more real estate-heavy, less universal version of Ramit Sehti’s I Will Teach You to be Rich.

The book is good. But, I went to his website and took the test that he talks about for the book. Holy cow, I get multiple emails every day, all of them very sales pushy. Gotta get that money, I guess.

Probably Better as a Workbook than Audiobook
Revisado: 09-26-17
I enjoyed the listen, the information was solid and useful. I look forward to making use of what I read. But, realistically, listening to this while at the gym or on the road lessens its applicability. After one listen, I feel like I need to go back again so that I can actually make my plan.

Good book, slightly dated
Revisado: 09-08-17
Most of the illustrations and talk of technology firmly date this book to pre-2008, post 2001 mentalities and approaches to the business. The 100 client cap is getting more outdated, through more practices hiring paraplanners. Also, the book is very focused on one specific firm.
Regardless, there were some great nuggets in this book. But, it could use an update, or perhaps an additional section for folks outside of the Merrill world.

Historia
We're in the middle of an epidemic of average. So-called "normal" people get up every day, go to work, do what's asked of them, leave promptly at five, and return home to sit on the couch and watch TV. Society tells us that this is what it means to lead a balanced life. Don't stress too much or work too hard. Your career isn't everything. But Grant Cardone thinks this preoccupation with balance has really just given an excuse to be mediocre.

You have to be in the mood for it
Revisado: 09-06-17
What made the experience of listening to Be Obsessed or Be Average the most enjoyable?
Grant Cardone is a firecracker. This book is not particularly informational. It is, however, a kick in the backside. Grant uses his own life to paint a picture showing what pushing through the grind can do for you.
If you’ve listened to books by Grant Cardone before, how does this one compare?
This is the most fun book I have read by Grant. While none of his books get shockingly specific, this one givers you a push.
What about Grant Cardone’s performance did you like?
Grant is Grant. There is no one like him. So much energy, so much excitement, so much passion that you may not make it straight through the book - you will need to take a break.
What did you learn from Be Obsessed or Be Average that you would use in your daily life?
I would describe this book as more inspirational than informational, though there are some good leadership pieces in it.

Remarkably average
Revisado: 09-01-17
I often felt like I had read a section before. Then, he will cite the source that I had read. Some new information and approaches were here compared to other, more prominent books. However, I felt like the first half of the book was literally all that you would need. Could have been half as long and a better book.
