Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

What disappointed you about Under the Dome?
The plethora of *F* /*MF*/*GD*words in the firs 13 mins! I don't read many King novels -I have seen many of his films -but I tend to believe that good writing doesn't need the gratuitous profanity smothered in this novel. I stopped listening after 14 mins. There's a place for "colorful language" in novels but this seems just over done & has no real purpose in the story.
Would you ever listen to anything by Stephen King again?
Most likely not.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disgust and disappointment
Any additional comments?
Perhaps this is the style of writing for King as it is for many other NY Times Best Sellers, such as Jodi Picoult, but the profanity just sounded like a bad teen movie with characters who can't put a sentence together w/o the *F* word in it. Much like Picoult, it detracts from the story line & seems to only be there for the "gasp" affect.
I wanted to listen to the story to find out what is going on but couldn't stomach the constant barrage of profanity -it's unnecessary.

Solid Information
Revisado: 03-14-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. The information given is proven scientific ways our body works. It's similar to the Jillian Michaels book about hormones that affect the body. Every person should know & understand how their bodies change after 40. The proof is in the results -she's gorgeous!
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Slow down! I love her chatty way of speaking but sometimes she speaks so quickly that I was constantly hitting the rewind 30 secs button. The audible app on my iPad & ph have a narrator speed adjuster but when I slowed it down by .5 it was too slow.
How could the performance have been better?
Speaking slower in parts. Though I must say that there is no mistaking her passion for what she wants to convey to you. I love that!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
For the most part yes. Getting all the hormone info into my head took a bit more time. The 1st half of the book talks about hormones and how they play a huge role in weight balance. The 2nd half of the book talks about her weight loss plan "Somersize."
I didn't understand the entire way of replacing hormones naturally through bioidentical hormones and it seems that one still needs a doctor's intervention to make that happen. I was hoping for a more natural through nature solution -as in the foods we eat or not eat. I understand well now why I have the "7 dwarfs" of my body after forty. I was shocked to learn where synthetic hormones come from -ewh.
Any additional comments?
I read Suzanne's 1st book "Eat Great Lose Weight" in 1996 and this audio book talks about that program & expands a bit on it. I had no idea she was so cutting edge back then. Looking back she had it right about the fad diets of Low Fat, Low Carbs, High Protein, etc. & how they don't work -this book explains why. As with Jillian Michaels and others she promotes kicking out the processed foods, artificial sweeteners, & caffeine that is hurting our bodies.
