Loved this book!

A well-written book with an unusual twist on using psychic talents, and delightful characters brought to life by skillful use of tone and accent - I'll certainly be looking for more books by this author after thoroughly enjoying this one. One minor niggle was the narrator's habit of calling the main male character "Bin", sounding jarringly at odds with the rest of the book.

Not nearly as good as the first two books., which I thoroughly enjoyed. Not zbujold's best work, but it won't put me off trying other series.

A Travesty

I never thought there'd be a Pern book I didn't like - but Todd McCaffrey managed it with this. If I wanted a novel about a couple that became a threesome that became a foursome etc. bonking around the Weyrs I'd have bought the Mills & Boon edition! What I wanted was the damn good story that Anne McCaffrey always wrote - she must be turning in her grave with this tripe being published as "hers

If you could sum up Storm Warning in three words, what would they be?

Narrator needs to go back to school and learn how to correctly pronounce some words - glaring mispronunciations very jarring and offputting.

Every worn-out cliche of "sword & sorcery" fantasy - boring.

Worst Narrator Ever!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This guy absolutely ruined the whole book - his breathy, hyper narration style clashes horribly with David Weber's series. He hasn't even had the basic common sense to check on previous pronunciations of names, places etc. in the other FIVE books, and his clashing mispronunciations had me ready to quit on a book by one of my favourite authors - no easy achievement! I will certainly NEVER buy any book which has him as a narrator. If you haven't already bought this as an audiobook, don't bother - keep up with the series by getting the kindle version!

How could the performance have been better?

Anybody else narrating would have been better!

Stop changing narrators!

Would you try another book from David Weber and/or Charles Keating?

It's very unsettling to find have changes in narrator and character accents, and took me a while to get used to. If they change to yet another narrator, I won't be bothering to buy any more of this series!
