Important and gripping

This is a powerful story expertly told, with perfect narration. I highly recommend this book. Sort of made my blood boil but that’s why it’s important.

WARNING! Audio Series incomplete!

I just got to book 5, looked for book 6 to find the audio series is incomplete? I expected to pay for books but just no audio book version was surprising. Especially since this is an older series. I’m investigating.

Enjoyable read

This is part of audible plus and I was throughly pleased with the story and narrator. An interesting look at a the humanity of Morgan who has been portrayed as a villainess. Romantic, empowering and understanding of woman’s trials in olden times.
Highly recommend.

Interesting for serious ELRIC fans

Since the Elric saga is an all time favorite I was very excited to read this book. But for readers a caution, towards the end it hits a long part that could have used editing. Lots of convoluted exposition that slows the flow of the story. Yes such lengthy esoteric rumination is part of this author’s style but I’m commenting that even a lover of words like myself was thinking “let’s move on, I get the gist“

I wish all those words had been traded for another contained adventure for the heroes in the underside of the world. What other gods, monsters, and decadent cities could the heroes encountered on the way to their ultimate destination?

I listened at double speed to get through that tedious section.

I’m glad to have listened to this book and if you can’t get enough of Elric, please enjoy the excellent narration and the mostly interesting story.

So only 3 stars for this story while I’d give the original ELRIC series 6 stars if possible.

Warning: this is a Horror book.

As a graphic designer I want to redesign the cover of this book. The current cover art is a little silly and it makes this look more like a “spooky” tale, but oh no, this is a gory horror book.

So if you know what you are getting yourself in for you may like it better. Once I made peace with that fact I enjoyed the book overall. And the narrator was good.

As a woman I was a bit put off by the sex fixation of some of the male characters but I guess it was “realistic”

This could make a good movie if done well.

Enjoy! I got this book for free. But don’t read before bedtime unless gushing blood and twisted monsters puts you to sleep.

Great book of short stories with engaging linking device

Wow, really enjoyed this short read! Excellent short stories woven into an engaging overarching story to link them all together. And the narrator was top notch, doing so many believable voices. I’m going to look for other books he narrates. Only thing I’d suggest is changing the cover art. Looks like it’s going to be a noir/mystery story. Cover and logo don’t really communicate what you are going to experience.

Fantastic!

The cast narration was wonderful, the stories were mostly amazing (some better than others). Be prepared for some tough stories, this is not for little kids. Also comes with a PDF that lists all the credits (voices) for each story.

Maybe I will finally get the graphic novel.

OK for young kids

I am an adult who likes to listen to children and YA books, however this book was problematic. The biggest issue for me was the extremely cartoonish villains. Quite cringe-worthy. The performances (other than the villains) were decent, the story was very predictable – Think Home Alone in space and you got this book summed up.

If you want a short book for a young boy who is into science-space elements this may be OK.
