Historia
Defiance led Lisa Thompson to the male-dominated world of mountain climbing. But after battling breast cancer, she needed to understand the motivations behind the risks she took while climbing. Finding Elevation is more than her climbing memoir. It is an examination of the human spirit and motivation.

Awe-inspiring and relatable
Revisado: 01-11-25
I'm not sure how she does it, but the author, Lisa Thompson, tells her story in such a down-to-earth way that even though she is doing what my brain knows is nearly impossible, I could almost imagine myself in her shoes. And by telling her story in such a relatable way, it has allowed me to see my own life's challenges and try to approach them with the grit and surrender of control that Lisa does with the mountains. The story keeps you engaged with each page and I highly recommend it.

Historia
At the End of the Santa Fe Trail is a book by Sister Blandina Segale about her fascinating experiences as a young Catholic nun in the southwestern United States from 1872 to 1892. At a time when lawlessness and brutality were the norm, Sister Blandina displayed courage, tough-mindedness, and a deep religious faith in service to the less fortunate. Sister Blandina's well-written account tells of working with immigrants, Hispanics, and Native Americans who were losing their land to swindlers.

Anazing true character, but not page-turner story
Revisado: 10-10-24
Amazing individual. I just found myself starting to be bored with the story the second half.

Would be perfect w/o F word
Revisado: 06-05-24
Amazing, well-told story. I just wish the F word was not so common as it prevented me from listening with my kids. My kids could have learned compassion through this story told through the eyes of a 9-year-old.

Great perspective, too much profanity
Revisado: 08-07-21
I would love for my kids and others to read this, but the f word is so common that I can't possibly recommend it.

Historia
Margaret Trudeau, former wife of Pierre Trudeau, 15th Prime Minister of Canada, mother of Justin Trudeau, Canada's current Prime Minister, and international mental health advocate, brought her intimate staged performance, Certain Woman of an Age, to the Minetta Lane Theatre, where it was recorded live for Audible Theater. In this "fearless and vulnerable" (Chicago Tribune) one-woman show, Trudeau opens up - with refreshing candor - about her extraordinary life and her encounters with some of the most important icons of our time.

F-bomb

Not into the unneccessary profanity when I am listening with children. Stopped listening. Which is too bad because it could have otherwise been good.
