The ending was disappointing

I liked the characters and thought the mystery was quite gripping, everything was good entil the ending. I felt it was very unsatisfactory.

The "mystery" was never fully solved, there's no evidence why the given solution is actually the truth. why should we believe what one character said? because the main character thinks it is true? it also leaves a lot of loose ends still untied.
What erk me the most was one of the main mysteries - who the priest had consensual sex with right before his death - was never resolved. yes he had a lover, but that lover left a few days before his death?
Please write a sequel to this and completely 180 the story. I would love to read that.

I tried very hard to like it, but just couldn't. I even gave it another go after putting it down for half a year.
The main character is so unlikable and her logic so flawed it's hard to follow along with her narration.

Somehow I though the book was going to be funny, but it isn't. There isn't a single joke in the whole book. In fact, I cried quite a few times.
Mara's performance was great, some stories were touching, but I can't relate to most of the content. I wanted to like it but find myself looking forward to finishing the book to start something else.

DNF. Maybe it's the voice? I really really dislike Edward from the start and none of his actions in the next 60 minutes makes me like him any bit. Edward seems to me like a dirty old man whose only goal is to bang every character in the book, male or female. I was hoping for a love story with some smut but this is just pornography and actually feels kinda gross to me.

Nothing new

So this was written in 2015? The content seems to be from 2005. I kept hoping to learn something new, a more "in depth" story of how our gut works, but there's almosy nothing here I haven't learnt in high school biology.

YAMANE not your-mon-nay. Every comment is raving about how incredible this narrator is and yet he pronounced the main character's name wrong. I'm not looking for perfection like intonation but A being pronounced as O is too much, AND it's the main character's name that gets repeated every two minutes. Japanese pronunciation is super easy. Even if the narrator haven't done his homework in researching Japanese pronunciation before reading a book on manga, I could not understand how he could be so far off. This irritates me so much I couldn't finish the audio.
Go get the book. I only listened to 4 chapters but the story is intriguing.

I worked in a restaurant for a year so I thought this book might be interesting. I was so wrong. this book is for people into the celebrity chef scene. it's not about food or cooking. I didn't recognize majority of the names he's throwing around so it ends up being just a collection of essays about random strangers. probably not worth your time if you don't know those chefs.

The narration was perfect and the story is absolutely captivating. It has just enough romance in between adventures. Stayed up till 3am because I just couldn't put it down.
