Historia
Grace Evans, an overworked New Yorker looking for a total escape from her busy life, books an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming. When she arrives at the idyllic getaway, she’s pleased to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells—and he’s eager to introduce her to his easygoing way of life. But there are things Grace discovers that she’s not too pleased about: A lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn’t right with the ranch.

Weak
Revisado: 11-09-23
I love domestic thrillers as much as the next person, but this one was just ridiculous. I liked the idea-the general storyline, but the writing was horrible. We get it. She has blue eyes. Move on! The only part I enjoyed was the end!

Traumatized by the narrator’s pronunciation!
Revisado: 04-15-23
Like everyone else said-the way the narrator pronounced again, been, against, and process made me cringe. I never noticed how much the words again and been are used in every other sentence. I almost had to return the book!

The best
Revisado: 01-12-21
My girls (age 5 and 7) absolutely love this book. I do too. We have listened to it multiple times. They wanted to see the pictures, so we found a YouTube video, and they did NOT like the readers voice. We returned to this, narrated by Kirby Heyborne. As soon as they heard his voice, they both replied, “ahhhhhhh” (in his voice) and mentioned how much they missed him.
We love all the books in this series!!

Historia
Shelley and her mom have been menaced long enough. Excused from high school where a trio of bullies nearly killed her, and still reeling from her parents' humiliating divorce, Shelley has retreated with her mother to the quiet of Honeysuckle Cottage in the countryside. Thinking their troubles are over, they revel in their cozy, secure life of gardening and books, hot chocolate, and Brahms by the fire. But on the eve of Shelley's 16th birthday, an unwelcome guest disturbs their peace, and something inside Shelley snaps.

Historia
The man accused of shooting a black girl, a storekeeper named Paris Trout, has no great feeling of guilt, nor any fear that the system will fail to work his way. Trout becomes an embarrassment to the polite white society of his small Georgia town, which prefers to hold itself high above such primitive prejudice. But the trial does not allow any avoidance of the stark reality of social and racial tensions.

This version is abridged!!
Revisado: 01-04-20
This is one of my favorite books! I’ve read it about 4 times, and wanted to read it once more, but opted for the audible version this time. I’m pretty disappointed because this is most definitely an abridged version, but it is not advertised this way. Had I known it wasn’t the full story, I would not have purchased this copy. The book doesn’t make sense when you leave parts out!
