Historia
The War on Warriors uncovers the deep roots of our dysfunction—a society that has forgotten the men who take risks, cut through red tape, and get their hands dirty. The only kind of men prepared to face the dangers that the Left pretends don’t exist. Unlike issues of education or taxes or crime, this problem doesn’t have a zip code solution. We can’t move away from it. We can’t avoid it. We have only one Pentagon. Either we take it back or surrender it altogether.

I want to understand his perspective
Revisado: 11-21-24
I wanted to understand his position, as a veteran I do not disagree with his assessment of the DoD. I am unsure that his military experience has the requisite background to run the department, but there may be some merit to his selection. I guess we will see.

Started with equity, power dynamics between people, and class dynamics. Then stated the lectures would move into politics. So not what I was looking for

Historia
This book analyzes the evolution of Russian military thought and how Russia's current thinking about war is reflected in recent crises. What Jonsson reveals is that Russia's conception of the very nature of war is now changing, as Russian elites see information warfare and political subversion as the most important ways to conduct contemporary war. Since information warfare and political subversion are below the traditional threshold of armed violence, this has blurred the boundaries between war and peace.

Interesting outlook
Revisado: 11-16-23
Very interesting perspective on Russia’s doctrine and outlook on sixth generation warfare. The recon strike complex which was developed in response to West shows how Russia began to adopt new C4I processes. If as discussed Russia has taken the psychological cyber perspective of warfare they have done so in short order. Food for thought.

Historia
Two defense experts explore the collision of war, politics, and social media, where the most important battles are now only a click away. Through the weaponization of social media, the Internet is changing war and politics, just as war and politics are changing the Internet. Terrorists livestream their attacks, “Twitter wars” produce real world casualties, and viral misinformation alters not just the result of battles, but the very fate of nations. The result is that war, tech, and politics have blurred into a new kind of battlespace that plays out on our smartphones.

Good read, discusses confirmation bias & dilivers!
Revisado: 08-20-23
Well researched. Provides history, techniques, psychology, and outcomes of social media. Highlights confirmational bias. The story is balanced at first, but towards the end most of the examples in US issues are focused on how the "right" weaponizes information; as if the opposition is pure as the driven snow. The author's choice of these examples displays the confirmation bias the are warned about. Otherwise, it's a good read.

Historia
Michael Shellenberger has been fighting for a greener planet for decades. He helped save the world’s last unprotected redwoods. He co-created the predecessor to today’s Green New Deal. And he led a successful effort by climate scientists and activists to keep nuclear plants operating, preventing a spike of emissions. But in 2019, as some claimed "billions of people are going to die", contributing to rising anxiety, including among adolescents, Shellenberger decided that he needed to speak out to separate science from fiction.

This is truly a Must Read!
Revisado: 07-16-23
No matter your position on the environment and climate, this book provides researched facts you can use to learn from, test your ideas, and understand the impacts we have on the environment with recommendations on how we can act locally and globally to make real positive change.
This book confirmed many ideas I have with researched facts, laid out opposing climate agendas, and should open your eyes to the real issues we should address to improve the world.

Reread via audio, very nice
Revisado: 10-30-22
I had read long ago, was hesitant to reread as late in the book it can drag, the audio book kept it from dragging at all. Really enjoyed "rereading" it.
