Historia
When Simon Tam started an Asian American dance rock band called The Slants, he didn't realize that he was starting an entire movement around freedom of expression and discussions on identity. The band flipped stereotypes with their bombastic live shows and community activism. But when Simon applied to register a trademark on the band's name, the government dragged him all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Great inside look at a fight worth fighting
Revisado: 01-10-23
I am retired from classroom teaching now, but one of my passions has always been the study of Supreme Court cases. If I were still in the classroom, I would play parts of this book to help my students understand how cases arise and dedicated individuals work, their hearts out, seeking justice from our court system.

Historia
We all need inspiration to lead lives that honor God. When our faith is weak or the pressures of the world seem overwhelming, remembering the great men and women of the past can inspire us to renewed strength and purpose. Our spiritual struggles are not new, and the stories of those who have gone before can help lead the way to our own victories.

Too much judgmental commentary
Revisado: 09-27-21
The narration is ok. However, the author never misses a chance to get in a dig at those whose theology or practice does not align with his.

Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

Annoyingly snarky
Revisado: 02-25-18
Great research regarding epidemics, but author's constantly sarcastic tone made it very hard to finish.
