Ina’s journey touches on topics that are still relevant today.

Recommend audiobook. What struck me most about Ina’s memoir is how she reflected on moments where it was hard to stay true to herself, particularly in the time period where women were still gaining authority, respect, dignity. Her story has so many twists and turns, but staying true to herself seems to be the parallel that led her to success. It was great to hear her narrate her own story too.

I had seen the TV series before listening to this book and the novel was really given justice. Excellent story, excellent narration. The depth of each written character brings even more richness to the book versus TV. Recommend.

Great story and great orator

This story is great because it can be read independently from the Pendergast series and still hold its own. If you have read the full series, there are subtle “inside jokes” or “inside cues” to acknowledge Agent Pendergast’s background, but reading the full series is not necessary to enjoy this book.
I personally prefer the audiobook version because Rene Auberjonois is an excellent orator. Please keep him!
