I loved it absolutely. As unreal as it is to think about it could be real. Our world is so crazy and I think this story really showed it. I loved the development of characters who were not even the main characters was very very well done

I was so underwhelmed by the performance and I am extremely sorry about that. I love to give books a chance to bloom and unfold. I did listen to the whole thing, but the performance was so exaggerated and That made it extremely difficult to enjoy the story fully. I will say several times I tried to make myself not listening to her, but to listen to the story and I think the story had some great legs, but was completely trashed by the performance.

To be clear, the narrator didn’t do anything wrong, except for over exaggerating the language. If she had used a different tone of voice and a different way of executing the language, it would’ve been so much better.

Absolutely phenomenal story performance, and Content. This is my first time with this author, and I loved it. I love the dichotomy of the relationship dynamics.
This is one that I will pass on as a recommendation to many friends. Bravo.

Don’t listen, unless you can deal with emotion

First of all the performance. Stellar. The pronunciation of the French and the descriptions as she spoke and don’t forget being able to navigate all the different voices and make them stand alone. Brilliant.

The story. I was interested because of the movie. I did not see the movie and I’m so glad that I was able to listen to this overtime. It is so emotional and so good at making you aware of the unjust way we as a society treat women who age. And allows you to see into the life of someone famous, and how with all the wonderful things that people dream of being when they dream of being a rockstar, losing their ability to be a human is really devastating.

I loved both of the main characters and Isabel. She was a middle schooler going through so many body changes and societal issues related to somebody of her age and then on top of it having her mother being a “scandalous relationship”.

In a perfect world, they should’ve been two people who meet and fall in love and live happily ever after with that all the insane judgment and pressure

The only thing I hated about this book is that I cried so much.

I love the narrators. The story was also really good and knowing that part of they are wealthy

Wow
I laughed, cried, cheered, had compassion, anger, sadness, joy and introspection listening to the book.

So many stories woven together from women way stronger than I could imagine. The teen girls struggling with family and society judging them - cool way to share their truth. The boyfriend/ serial/killer/ traumatized perfectly flawed human. The friendships and love the girls/ladies grew into,,,, awesome book.

Plus there were lots of lessons listeners and characters learned

Narration was great. Story was twisted and kept you wondering, and guessing, as you were horrified and curious.

I will definitely listen for more stories by this author. Think somebody could conjure up something like that is pretty amazing.
