Ridiculous characters
Revisado: 03-14-25
Main character was extremely whiny and obviously very disturbed. As I continued to listen some parts I just had to shake my head. It’s a story though.

Historia
Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. Frank is ecstatic, and determined to finally make things right. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate—very secluded, very luxurious, very much out of his league. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire.

Good but…
Revisado: 10-19-24
The most annoying thing was the amount of whining that Frank did. I kept rolling my eyes every time he complained. He seemed to not really know his daughter.

Childish behavior from an adult
Revisado: 07-07-24
I could not believe that a grown woman could behave like this. Very selfish and self centered. Hard to keep listening to. Convincing herself she is justified in her behavior. Too many hashtag this and hashtag that.

Research is lacking on military culture
Revisado: 06-18-24
I served over 21 years in the US Army & I’ve never known any fellow soldiers that introduce themselves as their rank and name to civilians in a personal capacity. And an M4 is not a machine gun. Clearly the writer didn’t research military customs and courtesies. The narrator sounded like a digital reader which was not very good. Overall the story kept my attention. A better narrator & knowing military culture could have helped a lot.

Narrator makes a difference
Revisado: 05-06-24
The narrator sets the tone of an audio book. This one was great, really draws the scene with her narration. The story is sad and reflected of domestic violence victims. Enjoyed the book.

Always seems to attract trouble
Revisado: 11-20-23
Veranda is a bad cop- always seems to attract trouble and gushy gushy crap between her and “supervisor” so annoying. Why can’t she just be a strong competent cop. Don’t think I will get another book.

Narrator is terrible, made me want to get the printed version….
Revisado: 08-04-23
Just so I wouldn’t have to listen to such horrible narration. The baby babble and baby talk was really bad- why??? The story line itself was good but I would recommend the printed version to spare yourself from listening to ridiculous narration.

Getting annoying
Revisado: 02-17-23
The main character is really flawed, she’s so into her job that nothing and no one is ever important enough for her to let her coworkers do anything. She can’t even mourn her grandmother because she is too wrapped in herself and always wants to take the easy path of just drinking her Wild Turkey. Need a better female character.

She is always exhausted and hungry!!
Revisado: 02-06-23
Amazing that Detective Quinn gets any thing done let alone get crimes solved… she is always tired and hungry. She should know better to get rested and eat, but she goes on like a zombie. Then she always seems to get caught by the bad guys and her “gut” is always telling her something. She’s an okay character but if the author fixes those small things about her- she’d be great.
