I am a big fan of Liane Moriarti but this book seems to be before she really hit her stride. There are a lot of out of date references to palm pilots and emails back and forth. I wouldn’t recommend for young readers who have no idea what those things are. Overall, still good though.

You think you know about NRA? You don’t know Jack!

Wow! I thought I followed the NRA pretty closely. Boy, was I mistaken! There’s so much information packed into this book that I need to listen again! The level of corruption is beyond comprehension! An absolute MUST listen for anyone who wants to learn how to swindle gullible gun lickers out of hundreds of millions of dollars!

Loved the twists and turns

I had just pulled into my driveway when I did one of those comic, Scooby Doo, “Rut Row!”, double takes on the first big plot twist! This book was so compelling that I listened outside of my weekly work schedule because I was so addicted to the characters.
The narration was fantastic but to be fair, I’ve been such a big fan of her character portrayal that I lean toward the books she reads when I see them in the suggested material.
Definitely worth a credit - but steal yourself with the knowledge that you may not be able to stop listening once that first plot twist smacks you in the melon.

Of the half dozen books of hers To which I’ve listened this is the worst.

A complete “Meh” review on this one. The characters weren’t very developed and even less interesting or like able. This is nowhere as good as the other work I’ve experienced by this author.
Additionally, the narration is really disappointing. The changes In characters are so slight that it’s often hard to follow along.
Overall, it’s an okay listen but I recommend using a coupon if you plan to buy it.

If you like Wonk, you’ll love this book

A highly wonky listen that really makes you ponder potential 2024 GOP presidential candidates, this could surely be considered dry to those who aren’t politically obsessed. I enjoyed it because I’m a massive political nerd.
One glaring issue for me was the number of hiccups in the recording quality. Perhaps the content was so dry that the editor tuned out when the author LITERALLY said “oops” or corrected his words during the recording. The first time I thought I was imagining that he sounded like a kindergarten teacher correcting herself at story time. But the more he flubbed, the more I uttered “WFT?” to myself. Overall, it’s worth a listen but only if it’s on sale.

His soothing voice delivers a terrifying tale

Adam Schiff narrates the story that every American should listen to and heed as a dire warning of what is to become of our nation should we continue to allow elected officials to subvert democracy in pursuit of their own power. Highly recommend.
