Historia
Derek has saved villages and maybe even cities from overflowing dungeons. He later helped with the capture of one of the most despicable noblemen in the entire kingdom. After that, he, at the request of Prince Edgar, helped prevent upcoming danger by clearing a raid dungeon and keeping it from overflowing into the kingdom. Then, he and Silvi joined a war effort that began while he was clearing the dungeon.

definitely did not keep up with the previous books.
Revisado: 04-16-25
The story itself was weak. I am sure it was just to keep up with contract obligations, and I am not sure if I will get the next book. Just a book of the MC rambling thoughts and not much else. even the "big battles" at the end seemed rushed and not very well thought out. easy enough to pause the book and listen to another series new book then come back and not be lost. And the narration, nails on a chalk board. the mc is always a deep over bearing voice and all other characters are either either whiney or mystified. Even a good book can be brought down with bad naration and this one is not good.I like the idea of the story, the skills and abilities of the MC are intriguing and in the first 6 books showed promis. They fell off in this book.

I loved the story, I think it took a little to long for the MC to be able to stand up to his fear but I also know the story is far from over. Definitely worth listening to or reading

Great story idea, but such a letdown in the end.
Revisado: 10-27-23
First the positives, the story idea is great. Plenty of potential. The Narrator was great, considering what he had to work with. I gave it 2 stars because of the story idea and the narrator. Also, I did listen to all 7 books. However, with how it ended it could have been told in one or two books and you would not lose anything from it. A MC that loses almost every fight he is in. The author just kept adding more and more, and in so doing made the story less. The story could have ended two or three times during every book and maybe been far better. Why is Alexander the hero? Nothing about him begs admiration. a few gadgets that he is given because he is the MC and he still fails with them. The ending, so much of a letdown. 7 books of failure and mistake after failure and mistake until the last 5 minutes of the last chapter then all of a sudden all of the enemies are dying at once and the world is saved. Sad to see such a great story idea just fizzle out.

The Authors wildest wet dream
Revisado: 06-01-23
Well I had to force myself to finish all 3 books. I bought them after reading the summary and liking the idea of the plot. well it turns out the summary is the secondary plot. the main plot is to stoke the authors sexual fantasies. If the author would have spent as much time on the plot in the summary as he does on the orgies it may have been better. the mc is all but defeated in almost every battle until miraculously someone else comes in and saves the day at the last possible moment. every woman but 2 in the entire series wants the mc in bed and the author goes into extreme detail on those encounters while skipping over any other encounter. there is a great idea for a great story in here but it will take a good author to bring it to life and Aaron Stone is not that. maybe he is a good porn writer but he should leave the fantasy stories to other.

poor narrator
Revisado: 10-29-21
you would think if you narrated professionally you would learn proper pronunciations. Maybe just learn to read. Asatru is not pronounced asathro. The book itself comes from an author that just reads and rewrites others but not really learning the subject themselves. Definitely not a good book for beginners. Beginners need correct information not parroted misinformation

in search of competent narrator
Revisado: 10-23-21
I started the series as research on dark elves. The story is great. I am hoping to get more stories with all 4 companions. But please find a new narrator Victor Bevine should not be long lived as a narrator. His voices remind me of low budget cartoon voices. when his words get to slurring it's like finger nails on a chalk board. And I know I am not the only one that his mis-pronounciations aggravate.

The story is ok until the very end of the epilog.
Revisado: 09-27-21
The narrators are great. The number of Voices Greg Patmore is able to produce is impressive. However Jamie Edmunson seems to rush through the story. This complete series could have been a great epic if he would have slowed and put more into it. And the very end of the epilog just seems wrong to me. The end started off good but then it wasn't. just my opinion.

The story needs more....
Revisado: 09-25-21
It was hard to get started but before the end of chapter 2 I was into the story, but only because of the narrator. Greg Patmore is impressive with his voices. Jamie Edmunson does write a good story. I like a little more depth and dialog though. He gets to the battles quickly and ends them just as quickly. It just seems to be missing a little depth. Definitely does not keep you on the edge of your seat.

great story. some redundancy
Revisado: 11-26-20
the story itself is great. the characters or well thoughts out, the world - expansive. action, not many dull moments, however some redundancy where switching character view points. explaining the same thing over and over just from different characters gets boring, for example: explaining what a sword born is three times in a row just from a different character does not add to the story, rather is just seems like page filler.
