Historia
Here we go again... Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities - until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead. As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast - otherwise, an innocent person will die.

I'm hooked on this awesome book series!!!!
Revisado: 05-28-16
I only bought the first book in the series because it was on sale. When I listened to the first book I was hooked. (The series starts with "Touch of Frost".) I listened to the next and next and so forth. The narrators voice grew on me. at first it seemed awkward, but now I enjoy how it gives life to the characters. My better half got hooked on it (a 48 year old man) despite the protagonist being a young female Mythos Academy student. Although tailored for youth and young adults, the book is great for all ages!
When at a dinner with families, we mentioned it and it became a major conversation topic. (I think others purchased it after that...for themselves and their kids.)
While I suggest you start with the first in the series to make the most or of the characters and story line, if you haven't read or listened to the prior books in the series is fine to start with this one. this one can stand on it's own.
The storyline reminds me of Harry Potter...in a female version with newer technologies the characters use (e.g. cell phones).

Wonderful lnsight with Light Humor
Revisado: 05-24-16
I loved it.
It's done with such witt and sincerity, by an author whose talents and career includeds writing. It combines her valuable first- hand insight, her thoughts, feelings, and experience, and applies core fundamentals of borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. It a great example of a case of both. It is medically accurate, but more importantly gives depth and personal insight to an otherwise dry "five out of the nine symptoms" listed in the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) for borderline personality disorder.
She tasks the reader step- by- step through time. it's written in the first person, which gives the reader the chance to get into her shots and share those experiences as she describes them.
Since the reader is the author there's is no doubt as to whether the reader is correctly portraying the author's story.
I usually take a long while listening to an audible book, but I raced through through this one because I spent all my free time to listening to the book. I didn't want to put in down.

Historia
My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy - a school of myths, magic, and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things.

A Female Harry Potter? Good book
Revisado: 12-30-15
Seemed a lot like a female version of Harry Potter. It would probably be entertaining and appropriate for a pre-eteen. I'm almost 40 yrs. old and enjoyed it just as much. It's a nice imaginary retreat away from the busy chaotic real world. The reader had an unusual way of fluctuating her voice while reading. I've imagined my personal reading would greatly differ from hers.

Awe and exhilaration—along with heartbreak and mordant wit—abound in Lolita, which tells the story of the aging Humbert Humbert's obsession for the nymphet Dolores Haze. Lolita is also the story of a hypercivilized European colliding with the cheerful barbarism of postwar America.

A beautifully written, elegantly performed drama
Revisado: 11-23-15
The writing is so poetic and descriptive. It turns a tragic story into a beautifully written and well versed experience. The excellent reader is the same as the actor in the film, so his voice brings the book to life.
