Easy mystery
Revisado: 11-27-21
I guess if there is such a thing as gothic cozy mysteries, this would be an example. This story isn’t going to stretch your powers of deduction, but it is nicely formed and well narrated.

Historia
Often considered to be one of the most famous pieces by Edgar Allan Poe, 'The Raven' is a poem recounting the descent into madness of a young man lamenting the loss of his lover. This spellbinding performance by Dominic West (The Wire, The Affair) lures the listener into the depths of the protagonist’s despair.

Excellent interpretation!
Revisado: 10-25-21
I would expect that the narrator is very good with Shakespeare plays. His interpretation took you beyond the rhyme and into the meaning of the words. I loved it!

Historia
The beloved King Ik is dead, and there was barely time to check his pulse before the royal throne was supporting the suspiciously shapely backside of an impostor pretending to be Ik's beautiful, long-lost daughter. With the land's heroic hunks busy drooling all over themselves, there's only one man left who can save the kingdom of Jenair. His name is Dungar Loloth, a rural blacksmith turned innkeeper, a surly hermit, and an all-around nobody oozing toward middle age, compensating for a lack of height, looks, charm, and tact with guts and an attitude.

Good fun!

This is a classic quest story, but so much fun. The Lighthearted, yet well crafted, the story kept my interest and made me giggle a lot. The narrator was excellent.

Good mystery
Revisado: 05-23-20
This was a well written mystery. Definitely Noir in style, but not world changing. There weren’t any places where I wanted to fast forward, which is a positive, but i don’t think I am interested enough to get the next book in the series. I like the Narrator very much.

Nice
Revisado: 04-25-20
This was a sweet story with interesting historical angle. It was slow to start, but I am glad I stuck with it. I think if it as a cozy story, but it did touch on some heavy themes. The ending was a little too perfect.
The narrator was ok. It seemed that she made a decision to make the majority of the male voices in this kind of whisper and there was this hitch - almost like a chuckle at the end of phrases that was also used as a way to differentiate the voices. Both of those choices took some getting used to, but She had to deal with lots of male voices and accents and I think she did a decent job overall.

Good story. Ok Narrator
Revisado: 04-18-20
I enjoy the series. This 2nd installment was very well done. I did not like this narrator as much as the previous. I did not have a problem with the pace of her reading so much as her choices in voices. Billy, who is a very featured character manages to be quite screechy you my ears.

Really into bodily fluids
Revisado: 10-05-19
Which did actually fit the story being told, though it sometimes did seem a bit gratuitous. The story was an interesting take on werewolf/ shapeshifter mythology so I kept with it through tedious parts. This is a tale told in journal and remembrances of multiple characters through time, so it did seem like the same information was covered a lot. I liked the narrator, but sometimes he seemed to mix the voices of the 2 leads which made following the story sometimes difficult.

Historia
This live performance of a powerful police procedural comes to life through the artistry of Celeste Lecesne and is accompanied by the original music of Duncan Sheik. Celeste portrays every character in a small Jersey Shore town as they unravel the story of Leonard Pelkey, a tenaciously optimistic and flamboyant 14-year-old boy who has gone missing. A luminous force of nature whose magic is only truly felt once he is gone, Leonard becomes an unexpected inspiration as the town’s citizens question how they live, who they love, and what they leave behind.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

The narrator was a treat which enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I love Neil Gaiman’s way of telling a tale so I was happy and there were enough twists to make this fun. I did feel that the story dragged in places however.

This was my first of the Wisteria Tea Room series, and though it was very easy to follow despite this, the series just isn’t for me. I did not find myself engaged in the characters or really caring what happened next. I also was not a big fan of the narrator
