Historia
Everyone who makes the journey faces an impossible choice. Hundreds of thousands of people who arrive every year at the US-Mexico border travel far from their homes. For years, the majority came from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, but many more have begun their journey much farther away. Some flee persecution, others crime or hunger. They may have already been deported, but the United States remains their only hope for safety and prosperity. They will take their chances.

A Thought-Provoking Journey Through Displacement and Responsibility
Revisado: 10-06-24
Emotionally charged exploration of memory, migration, and identity. The story dives deep into the lives of individuals caught between worlds - geographically and emotionally - highlighting themes of displacement and the search for belonging. Blitzer masterfully intertwines personal stories with broader historical and political contexts, prompting reflection on the harsh realities faced by refugees, such as women who were sexually abused or men persecuted for refusing to join criminal organizations.
After listening to his geopolitical analysis, I believe that those who have become legal immigrants in the U.S. and Canada should take greater responsibility in supporting those left behind in their home countries. With the knowledge, financial power, and political influence gained abroad, they are in a unique position to educate the public back home and find ways to help overthrow oppressive regimes. By doing so, they could help their countries accumulate the resources needed to improve the lives of those still living under these criminal governments.
History and personal stories continue to fascinate me, and I find myself constantly listening to books on these topics. So, keep going as well. There's no end to the knowledge you can acquire, and it's something everyone should pursue continuously.

Historia
On the morning of Saturday, October 7, Amir Tibon and his wife were awakened by mortar rounds exploding near their home in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, a progressive Israeli settlement along the Gaza border. Soon, they were holding their two young daughters in the family’s reinforced safe room, urging their children not to cry while they listened to the gunfire from Hamas attackers outside their windows. With his cell phone battery running low, Amir texted his father: “They’re here.”

The Human Weapon Against Lies and Injustice
Revisado: 09-29-24
October 7, 2023, will forever be remembered as a day of national trauma. This trauma stems from nearly two decades of leadership failure, where the decay of the public system is evident through the systematic appointment of unqualified, inexperienced, and undereducated people to lead institutions designed to serve citizens. This is the result when the good people leave, and positions of power are filled by those who, in any other context, wouldn't have been hired for even the most basic roles or the lowest positions in any organization. It's what happens when the public fails to stand on guard and only wakes up when it's too late, after the high toll of casualties is all over news screens. This is a living example of the dangers faced by democracies that don't know how to defend themselves from criminals and fanatics who infiltrate and take over the system from the inside.
Personal stories are the human weapon that will ultimately defeat the circle of lies of those who do not know, are not qualified, and will never be fit to run a country. These stories are the memories that will endure for generations, and every single one of them must be told. Every grave holds an entire world, and the world deserves to know each person we lost prematurely, as well as the stories of the survivors.
History and personal stories continue to fascinate me, and I find myself constantly listening to books on these topics. So, keep going as well. There's no end to the knowledge you can acquire, and it's something everyone should pursue continuously.
If you're curious to read more stories, I weave together episodes from my life with the rich tapestry of Israeli culture through music, food, arts, entrepreneurship, and more. I invite you to subscribe to The Liat Show on Substack: My Journey to Infinity - a story unfolding across timelines.

The Hitchhiker's Method to Education and Entertainment
Revisado: 09-28-23
This audiobook, originally a radio show, is a hilarious and thought-provoking journey through the cosmos. It cleverly parodies the science and culture of its time, making it a unique and enjoyable experience for listeners. As someone who values innovative education methods, I couldn't help but appreciate the wit and humor in this satirical work. Listening to audiobooks is crucial and activates our imagination, something we need to continually train, especially in a world becoming increasingly visual. Films and videos often dictate the director's perspective, taking us captive in their mind rather than encouraging us to imagine for ourselves. It's a reminder that learning can be both entertaining and enlightening. If you appreciate innovative educational methods, get a ticket to the 'Education through Entertainment' show at Hajunk.com.

Revisado: 09-27-23
I love biographies; they reveal a person's true nature when written objectively. Life stories have a greater impact than a master's degree.
Educating the younger generation through biographies is easier, faster, and more engaging. I think there is a way to integrate this into compulsory education. Developing and implementing a strategy is the central task of a leader. A good strategy is a specific and coherent response to - and approach for - overcoming the obstacles to progress. A good strategy works by harnessing and applying power where it will have the greatest effect. Yet, Rumelt shows that there has been a growing and unfortunate tendency to equate Mom-and-apple-pie values, fluffy packages of buzzwords, motivational slogans, and financial goals with “strategy”.

Historia
The Second World Wars examines how combat unfolded in the air, at sea, and on land to show how distinct conflicts among disparate combatants coalesced into one interconnected global war. Drawing on 3,000 years of military history, Victor Davis Hanson argues that despite its novel industrial barbarity, neither the war's origins nor its geography were unusual. Nor was its ultimate outcome surprising. The Axis powers were well prepared to win limited border conflicts, but once they blundered into global war, they had no hope of victory.
