Nothing to dislike about this book. It’s a great read and the characters are likable, relatable and return from book to book, but in their own lives.

Liked this book for book club, it was quick and interesting! The narrator was fine, but tends to click (clip) the k’s, t’s etc. on some words, but not all. Makes me feel she could stop that. It’s super annoying. Thin-K is not a hard K at the end of that word. Drove me bonkers listening to this.

It’s a good book

This is not something that I would have picked myself to read. This was was a book club book. However, it was entertaining, made me think of different ways of life and how far we have come in just a few decades, and I really liked the air of mystery. There are stories inside stories here and while a couple of them didn’t really work or fell flat, it is, for the most part a very good listen.

My least favorite series of King’s, mostly because I’ve read the first book and still have no idea what is happening. So don’t hold it against him, Guidall is brilliant to listen to and it awesome writing, I just don’t know what the hell os happening! On to the next! :D

Aghhhhh

This is a great book, but the narrator drove me so close to throwing my headphones it almost wasn’t worth it. She could not settle on an overall narrative voice and the forced droning boring speech she settled on for all reading outside of the main character was infuriating! Ok, sorry, just a note ... your normal female narrative is pleasant, use that. :D The story is compelling and cool enough to keep you listening to the end though, true Koontz style & rhythm.

Give it a minute and it’ll grow on you!

All books that are written in a setting where the ‘N’ word is used freely or as a description of a person makes me uncomfortable. So when the first chapter got started I was ready to throw this one out. I put it in the perspective of the people of that time and moved thru the first 2 chapters with discomfort and disgust really, but then it transformed into something much more terrifying when the water rose... I really liked this book once the first few chapters were done and the time period progressed a bit further into more ... I can’t think of the word... This ended up being a haunting and interesting tale. I wanted it to keep telling me about the characters and wasn’t ready for them to go so soon!

Amazing book and Narration!

I can not express enough the mastery with which Kate Reading and Michael Kramer deliver Brandon Sanderson skillful writing. The rhythm that Sanderson writes is flawless and he found readers that deliver that rhythm skillfully and flawlessly. The Storm Father be damned this is amazing! All three books are worth the time spent listening and I have listened to them a couple of times. This is not a series that is replayed elsewhere. It’s no wonder that Sanderson was able to finish the the Robert Jordan series so skillfully. He was already able to create worlds and individuals with what seems little effort. ENJOYED this series immensely! Hope you do too!

Good book, interesting characters... But...

There is nothing wrong with this book, but the strange concepts of telepathic elephants and otters and just all the animal characters is just too strange for me and I'm a fan of ZOO. I just could not get into this world.
