When you kick over a rock, you never know what's going to crawl out. Alex Velesky is about to discover that the hard way. He's stolen records from the Swiss bank that employs him, thinking that he'll uncover a criminal conspiracy. But he soon finds that he's tapped into the mother lode of corruption. Before he knows it, he's being hunted by everyone from the Russian mafia to the CIA. Court Gentry and his erstwhile lover, Zoya Zakharova, find themselves on opposites poles when it comes to Velesky. They both want him, but for different reasons.

Improbable Financial Takedown
Revisado: 04-03-25
It was an exciting and action packed story even if it was fantasy. Too many “ G whiz” events and escapes, especially in the Swiss railroad tunnel and aircraft hanger. However, it was escapist and entertaining.

Historia
Volume Four begins in March, 1865 with Lee's starving soldiers facing annihilation at the hands of Grant's enormous army. Surrounded, with all avenues of escape cut off, Lee honorably surrendered the remnants of his valiant Army of Northern Virginia at Appamattox on April 9. Having done his military duty to his people, Lee next asked himself, "What is now my duty?" Declining handsome financial rewards for the use of his name in commercial ventures, Lee decided to share the misery of the people of Virginia and the South.

Freeman’s masterpiece reveals a Lee to be emulated
Revisado: 02-28-25
Although “political correctness” was a blight not even imagined when Freeman penned R E LEE, he seems to have anticipated its coming and provided a defense of Lee that vanquishes any attack from that quarter. He has left nothing to be said about Lee the gentleman, soldier, husband and father, and educator of vision. Removing his monuments, erected by a grateful people and the soldiers he led with great love and concern is a travesty of little minds who cannot separate a brilliant man and his concept of duty from the cause he was born and bred to support.

Reply to the Victor’s view of the Civil War
Revisado: 02-12-25
This is a thorough and unemotional chronology of the events that transpired in the Civil War. The author’s descriptions of the participants from the Confederacy are honest and frank. Opinions of the Union leadership, especially General Grant, are minimize; however, the disregard for the loss of life of his troops cannot be denied after reading this account. The significance of the deaths of Stonewall Jackson and Jeb Stewart to the overall outcome of the war are graphically illustrated. The reader is left to decide if the outcome of Gettysburg and indeed the war might have been different had these generals not been killed in action.

Overlooking Attack Modes
Revisado: 12-08-24
The widespread use of drones made the failure to consider them as a possible attack mode this plot weak.

Like Riding a Bike?
Revisado: 09-23-23
The cobwebs from decades plus of not playing an instrument melts away with amazing ease for Black. Organized crime bubbas check in to spice up the plot of a potentially rigged talent contest adding to the amazing synergies in the story. Good enough to keep interest in finding out how it will end.

Too long, convoluted, and wordy
Revisado: 01-13-22
Much harder to follow than her previous books. Hard to keep characters straight. Attempted subplots detracted from story. Disappointed with ending.
