Welcome to your post apocalyptic futuristic wild West
Revisado: 10-31-24
I’m writing this review after listening to the entire series including the prequel series and I have to say I have really enjoyed it not always fun not always clear where it’s going and at times it can be a little bit slow and boring, but the character is thoughtful, deliberate, direct compassionate Insightful with a rock solid understanding of what is right and what is wrong. This makes the sheriff a very powerful series and well worth investing in both your time and money.
I do caution, younger readers that this may not be the best read for them as it alludes to things of a sexual nature several times throughout the book in the terms of women trading their virtue for money. Considering this post apocalyptic world it is understandable but maybe not good for younger readers.
In contrast, the sheriff has been offered such favors many times throughout the book and always refuses due to the fact that his body and soul belongs to only one woman his wife, even though she is dead he honors her in his actions and heart always.

But life in Rivendell isn’t getting any simpler, either. Welcome to plasticine planet…
Revisado: 10-31-24
Well, Mr. Dennis E. Taylor is done it again managed to take sci-fi and make it about nature and then throw in a little technology to keep it interesting.
Of course he thrown in some good old-fashioned politics along the way.
Of course, any of you that don’t think we deal with politics every day would be wrong. There’s all sorts of politics as this book makes clear.
I have to say, I feel a lot of Bob verse in this book. A completely different take however as it is based in current day earth, and some young university science, students figure out how to create a portal of sorts and then one thing leads to another end there you go alternate universe, alternate world, Jurassic Park, or not… violence, intrigue, babies, and more.
Definitely a walk on the wild side .

Interesting and inventive…
Revisado: 10-31-24
Some of this takes my back to some StarTrek episodes dealing with alternate universes.
The voice acting is good, the vocal range for various characters is limited and at times can be confusing. However I am only a listener and not a voice actor. But I have listened to over 100 Audio Books. Some of my more favorite Audiobooks use a combination of 2 - 4 voice actors and that seems to increase the immersion and enhances the overall quality of the audiobook.
I always enjoy a good M.R. Forbes book. I’ve listened to or read everyone he’s produced and I always look forward to whatever he does next.

Historia
Van and his crew have killed an empire. The problem is the empire doesn’t know it’s dead. Moving among the stars, the Peacemakers are faced with their greatest challenge—removing an evil so vast, it has a presence in every known star system. To that end, they’ll need to move quickly. To do so, they must be mobile, and that means big changes in their tactics. . . and their crew. With the help of a shadowy figure known as the Body Thief, Van will continue his policy of justice and freedom for all citizens, even if they began life on a computer chip.

Wow, that was fun…
Revisado: 08-25-23
The story continues with Van and his crew chasing down the Benistar galactic bad guys to make them pay for their crimes against order.
The twists and turns are many and I think many more are on the way.

Historia
The universe is hungry. For power. For money. For war. And—revenge. Stripping osmium from across the stars, thieves will stop at nothing to fuel the nightmarish industry of Stolen Persons, their souls locked away in chips made of the rarest metal known. Among these thieves is Helum Gauss, the visionary criminal whose empire spans a hundred worlds. But his massive corporation, BeneStar, lost—badly—to Van and the Guild, and Gauss won’t take no for an answer.

Back story and plot twist
Revisado: 12-13-22
I know it’s hard to set the seen and bring folks in to the story. Especially when you are trying to engage some empathy and provide motivation for the characters in to story.
I do like some of the plot twists, but I could see them coming miles away.
I do like some of the interplay with friends and some of the other characters, it just felt more like a repeat of Guardians of the galaxy than something more original.
Still it’s is engaging enough I will try the next book.
