Historia
What do you get if you cross a dozen drunk hens with one shiny Butler in the Buff? Meet Lilah Fox. She's on the hen do from hell. Then she gets a message (44 of them, actually) from her best friend with big news: she's getting married in six months. Oh, and Lilah's her maid of honour. Which means she just got signed up for a military schedule of wedding fairs and weekly planning meetings, Excel spreadsheets and endless hen emails, and all the enforced, expensive fun you can imagine....

Great book! I can relate to Lilah so much!
Revisado: 12-09-22
Chose this book because I needed something light hearted to get me through a very difficult time in my life and this book did not disappoint. I could relate so much to the main character of being a pushover and putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Love the life lessons she learns as starts standing up for herself and finding her voice and figuring out who she is. Very inspiring to me right now as I’m finding my voice too!

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Helpful read for estranged children

Thank you Jeannette for this touching book and giving us a glimpse into your life. You’ve overcome so much and you’re an amazing role model to us all. I’ve faced lots of abuse and trauma from my parents throughout my life and its the source of my CPTSD. They’re both still living but I’ve gone no contact with them and my extended family, so I can relate to your sentiments in the title. I related to this book so much, including a lot of your revelations, when the perfect parent bubble was burst in therapy and you had to rebuild your foundation. Your uncanny ability to balance vulnerability with humor is a breath of fresh air. It was great getting to listen to you read it. Thank you so much for your bravery and I wish you the best in your continued journey and career and life! ♥️

Historia
Looking at real estate isn’t usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can’t fix their own marriage. There’s a wealthy bank director who has been too busy to care about anyone else and a young couple who are about to have their first child but can’t seem to agree on anything.

This book was suggested to me and I absolutely loved it from the narrator’s performance to the cast of real characters to the interesting plot line full of fun twists and turns. Great listening experience all around! Highly recommend!

Historia
During a train trip from Chicago to Texas in the late 1940s, A.W. Tozer began to write The Pursuit of God. He wrote all night, and when the train arrived at his destination, the rough draft was done. The depth of this book has made it an enduring favorite.
