Historia
Here, the FUBU founder and star of ABC's Shark Tank shows that, far from being a liability, broke can actually be your greatest competitive advantage as an entrepreneur. Why? Because starting a business from broke forces you to think more creatively. It forces you to use your resources more efficiently. It forces you to connect with your customers more authentically and market your ideas more imaginatively.

Some great stories and principles that bring the creation of something to life. Highlights pitfalls, where opportunity can come from and the curse of too much. Enjoyable book with good stories and pace.

Fascinating insight to ourselves
Revisado: 09-12-23
Really enjoyed the unmasking of the automatic things we do every day and why. The mix of personal, company and societal habits added an interesting dynamic that sometimes felt a stretch but the author worked hard to connect.

Story and combination that works well
Revisado: 08-12-23
At the start of this story I was a bit sceptical and bored. Not having grown up with the childhood actors I had little connection and did not really know who Clint was and why he was in the book.
As the story continues the brilliance of balancing the straight laced Ron with the wilder Clint really works and makes for a fascinating story of different paths taken and the impacts, while still maintaining love.

Historia
In January 2020, as people started dying from a new virus in Wuhan, China, few really understood the magnitude of what was happening. Except, that is, a small group of scientific misfits who in their different ways had been obsessed all their lives with how viruses spread and replicated - and with why the governments and the institutions that were supposed to look after us, kept making the same mistakes time and again. This group saw what nobody else did. A pandemic was coming. We weren't prepared.

Unenjoyable book
Revisado: 04-19-23
This is a formulaic Michael Lewis book that does not work in the pandemic setting. The assumption the hero’s are right, the system wrong. No debate just the hidden hero saving the day.
Narration was also poor.

Historia
Corbin College, not quite upstate New York, winter 1959-1960: Ruben Blum, a Jewish historian—but not an historian of the Jews—is co-opted onto a hiring committee to review the application of an exiled Israeli scholar specializing in the Spanish Inquisition. When Benzion Netanyahu shows up for an interview, family unexpectedly in tow, Blum plays the reluctant host to guests who proceed to lay waste to his American complacencies. Mixing fiction with nonfiction, the campus novel with the lecture, The Netanyahus is a wildly inventive comedy of blending, identity, and politics.

Historia
Over the past 20 years, Evolutionary Biologist Herman Pontzer has conducted ground-breaking studies across a range of settings, including pioneering fieldwork with Hadza hunter-gatherers in northern Tanzania. This book draws on his eye-opening research to show how, contrary to received wisdom, exercise does not increase our metabolism. Instead, we burn calories within a very narrow range: nearly 3,000 calories per day, no matter our activity level.

Revisado: 01-04-23
Really enjoyed the approach and story weaves by the author to take us on a journey of diets and energy consumption. It makes what can sometimes be a dry subject interesting and relatable. Also called out the various fad diets and how they work.
