Historia
You can’t fight a war without guns. Charlie and his friends need to arm their ship, but they have a small problem—black market particle cannons cost a lot of money. And they don’t have any. Which leaves them only one option. They have to steal the guns from the Anguilar Empire. It’s a daring plan, but it backfires when Laranna is captured by the enemy and taken back to her homeworld of Strada, which has been conquered and garrisoned by the Empire.

Typical
Revisado: 02-11-24
Typical let the main bad guy get away, go through all the trouble of capturing him, after killing dozens, but can’t kill the most evil person.

Villains know all
Revisado: 12-07-23
Didn’t like that the bad guys always knew everything, and the good guys always got away by a quick lucky break. How could the evil general have known that they rescued the female scientist??? And the good guys didn’t want to hurt their enemies, even in the midst of a battle.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Loved the first 90% of the book, and did not like the last +10%.
Is Weir a Spanish surname? Or have you lived in Spain for a while and you have been influenced by their story telling style?

The Egg laid the Chicken
Revisado: 02-24-19
It would have been an ok book if it wasn't for the last few minutes.
Spoiler alert.
I wasn't going to write this due to the potential spoiler, but there are many reviews with spoilers, so decided to do it.
At the end of the story, we find out the daughter is the main reason the spheres get sent. Also, the main reason she did that is, what happened to her parents. I'm not going to say that I'm 100% correct on this because I was driving while I was listening to this. And it started getting me aggravated so I could have tuned some of it out. But this seems to have gone the way of so many books that deal with time travel, that the egg lays the chicken. If this was a printed book I would have gone back and checked my conclusions, but I really don't want to listen to those last few minutes again.
About the preaching at the end, I would love to see your lifestyle and how much you do to follow your own preaching. Do you live in a log cabin in the woods, off the grid and grow your own food?

Historia
A freak accident casts Joe Colsco naked onto another planet inhabited by humans with technology circa 1700. In time, Joe, now known as Yozef Kolsko, makes the difficult acceptance of a new life. But he has become embroiled in a struggle beyond any dream he could have had. The Narthani are a militant society intent on subjugating the Caedelli, the people he's come to identify with. Unwittingly, the Narthani themselves are creating an opponent unlike any they have ever faced, an enemy beyond their conceptions.

Loved the series so far, hope the 4th is as good as this one. Everything is pointing to a great climactic 4th book.

Fun book
Revisado: 06-07-17
Fun book, glad that not even the most powerful could end all life with a computer virus or some other silly all powerful weapon. Even the most powerful beings had a weakness.
Only one part annoyed me, risking it all for 1 person that you just met seemed silly.
But overall I enjoyed the book, the narrator sounded like a Marine.
