Historia
Ainsley Greenburg is a fixer. It’s what she prides herself on. So when Ainsley realizes her marriage is at its breaking point, she makes a decision to repair it, no matter the cost. Approaching her husband to propose the arrangement is supposed to be the hard part, but Peter agrees to the salacious plan almost immediately. The rules are simple: They will each date someone new once a week. They will never discuss what happens on the dates. Soon, though, the rules are broken, turning terrible mistakes into unspeakable consequences.

predictable
Revisado: 11-19-22
There were no surprises here. Every plot twist was easily guessed. I'm not sure why I saw it through.

one dimensional
Revisado: 09-30-22
The characters were so one dimensional. It made the story insanely predictable. I guessed the entire thing abiut 10 minutes in, but wanted to see how it would play out.
This feels like a book I could have written when I was a junior in high school. I was disappointed after enjoying the Last Mrs Parrish.

wanted to like it
Revisado: 09-02-22
It held my attention for so long. i found myself trying to guess who was manipulating who and who was lying.
This story and these characters had so much potential.... but the "twist" with Autumn at the end seemed like it was just a thought the author had. As if she said "I want to throw _____ in there. Yes that will make it twisty." ... then just threw it in there with no preface to it. No hints leading up to it. And more importantly.... absolutely zero relevance to the story. The story would have been better with that part omitted.

Historia
The victims are all found face-down in the murky waters of the creek that runs through Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. They are naked, except for the black satin ribbon tied around their necks. And each murdered woman shares a single characteristic... they are all redheads... Socialite Reve Sorrell has come to Cherokee Pointe seeking answers about her family history and her shocking connection to wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jazzy Talbot. With their stunning good looks and shining red hair, the two are mirror images of each other—twins abandoned at birth and raised in very different worlds.

It was a freebie and cost too much
Revisado: 10-27-21
I honestly don't know why I hung on to this. I guess I wanted to confirm my suspicions.
- The plot was pretty dumb and not hard to figure out. Nonsense was drawn out way too long. There were so many times I thought "omg get to the point."
- Adjectives were overabundant, unnecessary, and repetitive. It reminded me of something written by a kid in jr high. I feel like it was meant to be from a southerners point of view... but as a southerner.. I've never once heard "as big as half dollars," which was used more than once.
- Both sex and rape scenes were overly graphic and drew away from the story line. I felt like I was reading erotic fiction.

ok, not much to it
Revisado: 09-29-21
It wasn't really suspenseful or have a major plot to it. The characters feelings are expressed well but the character development is... not quite realistic. Nor are the relationships between the characters and the events which happen.

Ending was lacking
Revisado: 07-12-21
I enjoyed listening to this. I felt bad for Wes as everything unfolded and we were made aware of everything that had been done to him.
I loved Mia.
But the ending was just... lacking. The ending, itself, was really bad, but aside from being bad, it didn't wrap anything up. It felt rushed. It left a lot to be desired.
When I was in grade school, I'd read a book about a kid who saw a king on the lookout for his bio son, who had been adopted at birth. The kid thought it was him, and he became more and more convinced the more he learned. Then when he was about to meet the king to find out, he realized he couldn't be his son because the king had an accent and he did not. This is exactly what the ending of The Names of the Dead reminded me of. I can't believe more people didn't comment on the disappointing ending.

Historia
The moment Joanna told me she was engaged, I had this awful feeling that something was wrong. We used to speak on the phone every day. Growing up I spent more time at her house than I did at my own. I’d always imagined what it would be like to see her get married, and now I didn’t even know her fiancé’s name. She asked me to come and meet Mark and I intended to tell her to slow down. When I got to Joanna’s front door, only Mark was there. He was charming and gorgeous and nothing but nice to me, and I started to understand....And then he told me that Joanna was missing.

I get that books aren't supposed to be life. But it was very distracting how Mark and Joanna's marriage was portrayed. There is NO WAY all that could happen in a month.

great

I have been disappointed in most audible books I've been listening to lately.
Not this one. Even though the listeners know the kidnapper from the start, it's a great story, and I didn't want to turn it off.

Historia
Working as a dedicated forensic psychiatrist for many years, Emma is not shocked so easily. Then she is assigned to work with Connie, a wife and mother accused of a despicable crime. Connie is suffering from dissociative amnesia - or at least seems to be. Now it is up to Emma to decide whether Connie can stand trial for her sins. But there is something about Connie that inexorably pulls Emma into her orbit. Too Close is a masterfully written riveting listen about the powerful - yet dangerous - closeness between women.
