Historia
With Barack Obama's historic election in 2008, pundits proclaimed the Republicans as dead as the Whigs of yesteryear. Yet even as Democrats swooned, a small cadre of Republican operatives, including Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie, and Chris Jankowski, began plotting their comeback with a simple yet ingenious plan. These men had devised a way to take a tradition of dirty tricks - known to political insiders as "ratf**king" - to a whole new unprecedented level.

Terrifying
Revisado: 04-23-25
And Mr Janikowski should be apologizing to his children already. Ronald Reagan, who I voted for twice by mail while serving in the military, finally said something honest at the end of his 2nd term. Had I known then what I know now, I would not have voted for him. I doubt I’m alone. The Republicans will crash this entire country rather than give up a seat. Their behavior has been, and continues to be, horrifically shameful.

In the 1920s, the richest people per capita in the world were members of the Osage Nation in Oklahoma. After oil was discovered beneath their land, the Osage rode in chauffeured automobiles, built mansions, and sent their children to study in Europe.

Wow, reviews all over the place

Interesting response to actual history and the gross mistreatment of native Americans by their white “guardians”. I grew up 20 miles from Pawhuska and had only heard bits about the million dollar elm and lies about natives abandoning their new Cadillacs when they ran out of gas. I grew up seeing pictures of Osage in traditional attire driving beautiful new convertibles. Now the only thing drawing people to Pawhuska is filmmaking (August Osage County and this) and Ree Drummond. The Osage were taken advantage of by everyone from those who were supposed to protect their interests to vicious criminals. The Phillips brothers (now ConocoPhillips) and J Paul Getty used them to get their starts. Probably many others. White “businessmen” and criminals literally sucked the Osage dry and surprise surprise, all under the nose of the corrupt and bigoted J. Edgar Hoover.
Fraud, corruption, murder and bigotry. I believe only White men had real access to the ballot, and all of the power. No wonder so many of them continue voting for those who promise a return to the “good old days”. American Exceptionalism. What a joke. Evil, bigotry and fascism are alive and well in Oklahoma and the United States. As it has been since the Osage were plundered.
