Johnny Be Good is a perfect dose of fun, love, glamour, and rock'n roll. It is the novel to make you fall in love with Paige Toon's universe, if you're not already stricken. I love its protagonist Meg who is smart but also a bit dazed, its rockstar Johnny and his mood-swings, its jokes, references and British cussing, and of course its to-be-continued kind of love story. Toon makes you want to stay inside Meg's head in the sequel, Baby Be Mine.

Before The Longest Holiday (and perhaps Pictures of Lily), Johnny Be Good was undoubtedly my favorite Toon-novel. I've read it several times as an ebook, and I keep returning to it.

As an audiobook, it is just as enjoyable. Especially because everything is not over-explained, and the chapters are perfect in length. Nicky Diss' narration is brilliant. It is exactly how I always imagined it should be. Her way of doing different characters is good too, and the audiobook is well produced with some sound effects.
