Historia
Cat Winthorpe has worked hard to get what she has: a gorgeous home; social standing; and William, her successful, handsome husband. Then a friendly new couple moves into the estate next door. While cautious, a good neighbor like Cat greets them with open arms and warm hospitality. Neena Ryder isn’t a fellow lady of leisure. A life coach with off-the-rack dresses, personal issues, and a husband who hasn’t delivered, she’s anxious to move up in the world. This beautiful new town is a step in the right direction. It’s also making Neena aware of what she doesn’t have.

I loved this book until I didn’t
Revisado: 08-16-21
I hate writing a negative review because I truly enjoyed the majority of this book. No spoilers, but the epilogue was very unsatisfying. It requires readers to suspend disbelief about the aftermath of the events leading up to the climax. I also did not care for the narrator’s male voices.
If you are interested in this book because you heard it provides a mystery/thriller in a real housewives setting, I recommend Wild Game by Adrienne Brodeur. It’s a wild true story that will make you feel like a fly on the wall observing a family’s intense secrets. Happy listening!

Historia
They are the families considered worthy of a listing in the exclusive Green Book - a discriminative diary created by the niece of Edith Roosevelt’s social secretary. Their aristocratic bloodlines are woven into the very fabric of Washington - generation after generation. Their old money and manner lurk through the cobblestone streets of Georgetown, Kalorama, and Capitol Hill. They only socialize within their inner circle, turning a blind eye to those who come and go on the political merry-go-round. These parents and their children live in gilded existences of power and privilege.

Overwhelmingly Liberal
Revisado: 06-09-21
Coming from a kind place - you’ll love this story if you’re on the liberal side of the political spectrum. As a center-righter I find the “the Republicans are the evil ones” trope tired. IMO, the author didn’t even need to call out political classifications to make this book thrilling. The partisan divide added nothing to the narrative. I thoroughly enjoyed the portions of this book that weren’t so politically charged, but I’d probably skip it had I known.

Can’t believe this was “free!”
Revisado: 09-21-20
This thriller was better than many titles I’ve paid for. It was so good - I can’t believe it was included in audible plus. This is my first time writing a review, but I felt compelled to recommend because of how thoroughly I enjoyed this listen. 5 stars!
