Historia
Before John Glenn orbited the Earth or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as "human computers" used pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets and astronauts into space. Among these problem solvers were a group of exceptionally talented African American women, some of the brightest minds of their generation.

Historia
When Brendan Leonard moved to the West at age 23, he was a mess. He had a tenuous grip on sobriety, only six months after his last drink had landed him in yet another jail cell. It was the final mistake in a long list that included multiple arrests, wrecked cars, broken bones, fistfights, and ruined relationships. In Montana, he took his first steps into the Rocky Mountains, unwittingly beginning a decade-long obsession with climbing and a journey that would take him all over the West and Europe.

I could tell autobiography from fiction
Revisado: 05-22-21
I was thrilled with the personal account of the author's first encounter with Indian people and their culture. I had not inquiried about his biography prior to reading the book and was thinking "You cannot write this unless you have experienced it". However, I think he should have kept it there. Everything that followed and was the product of his imagination was flimsy and would have better be put in a different book.

Compelling Story. Narrative Could Be Improved.
Revisado: 10-27-20
Wolkoff has a compelling story. However, at times I was lost due to the abundant use of acronyms, the lack of clarity, and the speed of the narration.
