Historia
Michael was born with special electrical powers - and he’s not the only one. His friend Taylor has them too, and so do other kids around the world. With Michael’s friend Ostin, a techno-genius, they form the Electroclan, an alliance meant to protect them from a powerful group, the growing Order of Elgen, who are out to destroy them. The leader of the Elgen, Dr. Hatch, has kidnapped Michael’s mother, and time is running out. After narrowly escaping an Elgen trap, Ostin’s discovery of bizarre “rat fires” in South America leads the gang to the jungles of Peru.

Historia
To everyone at Meridian High School, Michael Vey is an ordinary 14-year-old. In fact, the only thing that seems to set him apart is the fact that he has Tourette's syndrome. But Michael is anything but ordinary. Michael has special powers. Electric powers....

Wonderfully Entertaining
Revisado: 09-14-21
At dinner one night, we were discussing books we’ve recently read/listened to and ones we’d like to read. We were recommending books to each other when our nephews (ages 16 and 15) began to talk about Michael Vey - rather enthusiastically. I asked if they thought I’d enjoy the books (I’m 49, by the way), and they both immediately responded yes! We’re always looking for new things to connect with the boys on (like all the Marvel & DC stuff we do), so I began listening to the first book. As I expected, it was geared towards HS teens, but it is extremely well written and wonderfully entertaining. If your kids are into this series, I highly recommend giving them a listen!!

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Must Read for Adoptees
Revisado: 08-21-18
I was adopted in 1971 and read this book at the urging of a fellow adoptee. This has been so eye opening and is a must read for anyone adopted. I’ve always had a great respect for my birth mother and what she must have endured to give me life. My Mom always spoke of her in a very positive light. Adoption was very normal and positive in our home. After reading this book, I find myself wanting to get over my fears and really search for her. Thank you to all the brave women who shared their stories with Ann Fessler - you have raised the shades on what really happened to the girls who went away.
