Found a little gem!

I've never heard of this author or this book. I actually came across it looking for a different horror book but the title got my attention; I'm glad I gave it a shot. The author does a great job of packing the feeling of helplessness, anxiety, even claustrophobia very quickly in such a short listen. As a parent you're definitely going to feel anxious listening. It's not gory or violent but it is fast paced and definitely gives you a feeling of discomfort wondering whats happening, why it's happening, and how theyre going to come out of this. I will be looking into finding more from this Author.

She is new to this area, alone after the death of her husband, and she knows no one. Becoming obsessed with solving this mystery, our narrator imagines who Magda was and how she met her fate.

The ridiculous reviews of the narrator sounding "too old" are to be ignored. the main character IS AN OLD LADY and you could easily adjust the speed on your app if it's too slow for you. I can see how the story can be a little confusing as you go through what seem to be ramblings from a confused and erattic old woman but if you stick with it and read between the lines you find that the main character is the face of many women who have be taught to settle, conform, and male themselves small for the people and men around them. how she's coming to terms with how truly unhappy her entire life was and how the lies her life has been built on was for the comfort of others. how women are taken advantage by those meant to protect and love us and how we're deemed crazy, ungrateful, etc if we question things or step out of line. this is a wonderfully written albeit a little looney way of expressing how its never too late to stand up for yourself.
