This is not a family book. Anyone who's familiar with Christopher Moore could tell you that. The book is hilarious though.

Just as with Dark Victory, this book features the mirror universe. It's a fun romp with all of your favorite ST friends. It even features some surprise guest enemies. Also, Shatner does a decent job of show how events unfold along the ST timeline.

I was a little peeved at the Asimov rip off though.

Fun to listen to on a long drive though.

Okay, it's cheesey. I admit it. But it's a hell of a lot of fun.

This episode (that's how I've come to think of Shatner's ST books)has it all. Kirk, Picard, Janeway (sort of), and all of their subordinates. On top of that, it features the Mirror Universe. How can you now listen to this with a smile.

When I first read The Return, I thought it was cute that Shatner brought his character back to life and allowed Kirk to interact with ST's current stars. Sure, it's campy as all get out, but it's fun.

One criticism is that I think Shatner tries to hard to drop the name of every major ST character there is. One would think that Starfleet only had 10 officers capable of working together and sends them everywhere.

Fun to listen to at work though. It makes pouring over spreadsheets less painful.

The Salmon of Doubt Audiolibro Por Douglas Adams arte de portada

Bittersweet

When I purchased this I expected the "Salmon" portion to be longer, so I was a bit disappointed by that. Instead, it is a collection of magazine articles, essays, speeches and quips that Adams typed on his Mac over the course of his life. I laughed until I was in tears at parts. It's bittersweet though, because as funny as the book is, you know that there'll never be a follow up to any of the the work included. Once you finish, you'll never have another Douglas Adams book to wait for.

The book is an awesome eulogy to a comic genius.
