Historia
This forest isn't charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its treeline. Mina's is no different. Left stranded, she is forced into the dark woodland only to find a woman shouting, urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a wall of glass, and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the watchers come above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn't reach the bunker in time.

Historia
For Stefanie Wilder-Taylor, alcohol was the seasoning that could give almost any activity more flavor—from liquor cabinet concoctions in high school to tequila shots in her early stand-up comedy days to grocery store wine in young motherhood. A drink instantly took the edge off and made even the most difficult adversary (be it a tough crowd in a comedy club or a judgmental PTA mom) not just bearable but fun.

I enjoyed the surprising story in this book. I felt the performance was pretty darn good and felt totally appropriate to the story. The story has some surprising twists and I enjoyed listening to them! A few times, I found myself waiting to get back so I could find out what happened next.

Love Anne McCaffrey!
Revisado: 11-19-20
I am listening to these books in the order recommended by Anne McCaffrey, some for the 2nd time. Dragonsong was a delightful story. In the beginning, I wasn't certain where the story was going but by the time 1/4 of the story was over, I found myself anticipating getting into my car just to figure out where the story was headed! I enjoyed the story and especially liked the ending! The narrator, Sally Darling, took a little getting used to. She was well-spoken but her pitch was higher than I was used to and her accent took a little getting used to. This probably was because the last book I listened to was Dragonquest (40 hours) with a male narrator. This is a much shorter story. I recommend it!

I liked all of this story. I also like that Anne McCaffrey was probably one of a few female Science Fiction writers in the 50's and 60's. Next to listen to Dragonsong!

This is a wordy listen!
Revisado: 10-12-20
I have listened to this book for a month. The story really just goes on and on but I was very disappointed in the end to get no real satisfaction or resolution to the characters' stories! I wanted the characters to have more of a personal story togther rather than just meeting for a brief time. All of the characters start in the story and end in the story with the war happening in their lives in between. But nothing really noteworthy, which made me care less about the characters in the end. I wanted to enjoy it but the end was just not rewarding. I am giving this 3 stars because of the effort.

Historia
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

I disliked this telling from Edward's POV.
Revisado: 09-11-20
I am a fan of the Twilight series of books. I was excited to start Midnight Sky but was disappointed and found myself struggling to continue after 8 chapters. Well, before that, because of the chronicling of Edward's every obsessive thought regarding Bella! I don't feel that re-telling the story from Edward's point of view added anything to the series. Instead of being interesting, as I hoped, it felt like a repeat with Edward being constantly obsessed with and worried about Bella. The performance was fine.

Narrator not great for listening to while driving.
Revisado: 08-18-20
We expected to like this story as it is an old one and we love Agatha Christie and used a credit to purchase it for a 9-hour road trip one way. Dan Stevens the narrator was too difficult to understand as the tone of his voice fluctuated wildly from loud to soft and it was VERY frustrating trying to listen to while driving. We tried to resolving it by increasing and decreasing the volume of the playing device, then controlling the volume in the car. It didn't work. We would get narration that was tolerable then in the next sentence, it would get so loud that it was uncomfortable. We were unable to listen to it at a steady pace at all. More trouble than it was worth and disappointing. We were unable to listen to the story during the trip but I could not leave a review regarding it until the story showed that it had been fully listened to. So, I let it play in the background so I could leave a review. This review is only for narration as we were unable to listen because of the narration. I did wonder why there weren't more reviews about the fluctuating tone of the narration, then realized if someone left it unlistened to/unfinished, they cannot leave a review.

First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her audiobook shares the wisdom and inspirations she’s learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture clichés. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.

I enjoyed this more than I even thought I would!
Revisado: 06-23-20
I was always entertained by the story and, listening over a few months, couldn't wait to start it again each time. It was a VERY pleasant surprise to find that Jessica took the time to narrate the story herself! I wasn't sure at the beginning but by the end, she felt like an old friend. Thanks for keeping those journals, Jessica! Also, she sheds light on all of her relationships (John Mayer!). If you ever wondered what happened between, then listen to this.
