Historia
For the first and possibly last time, Josh Gad dives into a wide array of personal topics: the lasting impact of his parents’ divorce; how he struggled with weight and self-image; his first big break; how everyone was sure his most successful ventures (both on the big screen and the stage) would fail; his take on fatherhood, and so much more.

I was expecting humor, but was warmed by Josh’s honesty, sincerity, and his ability to self-reflect. LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Sorry I waited!
Revisado: 08-14-23
I have had this download in my Audible library for a few years now. Recently I had a 5-hour drive and thought this would be the perfect book to
listen to on the road… and I was so right! Just like her YouTube videos, Caitlin is fun, irreverent, and topical! I am sorry I waited to get to this book; I have already added one of her other books to my Audible library and, this time, I won’t wait long to get to it!

Historia
In Uncle of the Year, Andrew Rannells wonders: If he, now in his forties, has everything he’s supposed to need to be an adult—a career, property, a well-tailored suit—why does he still feel like an anxious twenty-year-old climbing his way toward solid ground? In deeply personal essays, Rannells argues that we all pretend—for friends, partners, parents, and others—that we are constantly succeeding in the process known as “adulting.” But if this acting is leaving us unfulfilled, then we need new markers of time, new milestones, new expectations of what adulthood is and can be.

Two for two!
Revisado: 05-22-23
This is my second Andrew Rannells book and I loved it, his delivery, and his honesty. We share many of the same inner-monologues. My only problem with the new book is that it was so long between the first book and this new one!

SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer has guns on her mind. There’s buzz of a last-ditch shipment of drugs and weapons crossing the Mexican border ahead of new restrictive gun laws. Before Lindsay can act, her top informant tips her to a case that hits disturbingly close to home. Former cops. Professional hits. All with the same warning scrawled on their bodies.

Historia
As Catholic theologian, historian, and papal biographer George Weigel notes, the next pope will probably have been a teenager or a very young man during the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965); he may even have been a child during those years. Thus the next pope will not have been shaped by the experience of the Council and the immediate debates over its meaning and reception like Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis.

Good background, terrible conclusions!
Revisado: 12-13-20
George Weigel has done a great job in his background research.....it's his conclusions from that research which are wildly speculative and, in my opinion, out of touch with a 21st century Church based on Gospel values.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.
