Ek het die boek baie geniet! Ek was eers nie lus vir 'n Covid- storie nie, maar die pandemie het glad nie die storie oorheers nie. Die boek handhaaf 'n goeie balans tussen hartseer, humor en heelmaak. Goeie en intelligente taalgebruik. Baie dankie! Nog asseblief ;-)

Die voorlesing is baie goed en die storie is tipies van die soort verhale. Ek is egter teleurgesteld in die soms swak en lomp taalgebruik. Ek woon tans in 'n oorwegend Engels sprekende land en luister na Afrikaanse boeke om bietjie goeie Afrikaans te hoor (want ons almal verengels mos maar) en hierdie boek was in die opsig 'n teleurstelling.

I found the swearing a bit much. I get that the author wants to keep the narrative real, but found the language offensive and frankly unnecessary. I could not finish this listen.

Very offensive.
What could Dave Eggers have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
It is very cleverly written, and enjoyed the intelligence of the author. But I found the swearing and blasphemy very offensive.
Which character – as performed by Dion Graham – was your favorite?
Dion Graham is a great artist, Will definitely look out for books read by him.
