Update: I had to stop listening to the book due to the issue below:
In general, I feel my previous review for the other titles in this series stands, with one exception: the recording!
Juliet Gray does a fantastic job narrating this story, but the issue lies with the quality of the recording. While she is doing her narration, it seems like she is constantly on the move, causing the audio to sometimes rise up or lower, depending on how close she is to the microphone. This is usually not an issue when it happens once in a while. Still, it is constant throughout the book, and the volume variations are so significant they considerably affect the overall effect of the narration.
My previous review:
If you are looking for a historical account of Marie Antoinette's life, this is not the book series for you; on the other hand, if you are looking for a beautiful narration of her life that happens to be exceptionally well-researched and accurate, this is what you are looking for.
Juliet Grey creates a believable discourse between individuals. She portrays what might have happened behind closed doors, basing the storyline on reliable sources and serving us with excellent historical fiction that should not offend even the most significant history buff.

Historia
Paris, 1774. At the tender age of eighteen, Marie Antoinette ascends to the French throne alongside her husband, Louis XVI. But behind the extravagance of the young queen's elaborate silk gowns and dizzyingly high coiffures, she harbors deeper fears for her future and that of the Bourbon dynasty. From the early growing pains of marriage to the joy of conceiving a child, from her passion for Swedish military attache Axel von Fersen to the devastating Affair of the Diamond Necklace, Marie Antoinette tries to rise above the gossip and rivalries that encircle her.
