Historia
It still takes a major effort of historical imagination to enter the minds of those who lived during the Reformation Era; who were willing to suffer martyrdom or martyr others for what we would regard as minor doctrinal differences. These 36 lectures are designed to take you inside the minds of those who supported the Reformation and those who resisted it.

All you could hope for!

An excellent series of lectures, equally informative and thought-provoking! Certainly one of the best titles in the Great Courses series. Every one of the lectures was superbly organized, and the whole series flowed logically and consistently. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the growth of Christianity in the late medieval and early modern periods.

Historia
Beginning in the heady days just after the First Crusade, this volume - the third in the series that began with The History of the Ancient World and The History of the Medieval World - chronicles the contradictions of a world in transition. Impressively researched and brilliantly told, The History of the Renaissance World offers not just the names, dates, and facts but the memorable characters who illuminate the years between 1100 and 1453 - years that marked a sea change in mankind's perception of the world.

Great book, wrong title
Revisado: 07-20-24
An excellent performance of a detailed and interesting history…of the late Middle Ages. The stories (and there are many, from all civilizations) stop in 1453, and there is next to no discussion of the actual Italian renaissance. Is that in her next book?
