Historia
Orla Cadden is a budding novelist stuck in a dead-end job, writing clickbait about movie-star hookups and influencer yoga moves. Then Orla meets Floss - a striving, wannabe A-lister - who comes up with a plan for launching them both into the high-profile lives they dream about. So what if Orla and Floss’s methods are a little shady - and sometimes people get hurt? Their legions of followers can’t be wrong.

Good and bad in everyone
Revisado: 11-02-21
We all have secrets that we keep and successes that we blab. We all know who we are on the inside but hope that nobody can see it. I love the honesty in this book. Characters were unreal and real at the same time. Very interesting setting. The book is really well written and the author did such a good job traveling between different times. Definitely worth it!

Historia
Follow Me to Ground is fascinating and frightening, urgent and propulsive. In Ada, award-winning author Sue Rainsford has created an utterly bewitching heroine, one who challenges conventional ideas of womanhood and the secrets of the body. Short but authoritative, Follow Me to Ground lingers long after listening, pulling the listener into a dream between fairy tale and nightmare, desire and delusion, folktale and warning.

Mythical
Revisado: 03-13-21
I loved this Novel. If you are looking for a book that reads like a TV mini-series or another predictable movie, skip it. If you want a book that touches all your senses and transports you to a new reality, listen to this book. Close your eyes and relax into it. It is like listening to art. The story is mythical. With themes similar to Greek mythology: The father-daughter conflict. The desire to consume and be consumed by love. The continuum of lies that exist in sexually inappropriate relationships. As a surgeon, I loved how they looked inside people for healing but knew that they could never truly enter the mind or psyche. Thank you for writing, Sue Rainsford. I can’t wait to read more.

Historia
The world is Rita Khoury’s oyster. The bright and driven daughter of a Boston-area Irish Arab family that has risen over the generations from poor immigrants to part of the coastal elite, Rita grows up in a 1980s cultural mishmash. Corned beef and cabbage sit on the dinner table alongside stuffed grape leaves and tabouleh, all cooked by Rita’s mother, an Irish nurse who met her Lebanese surgeon husband while working at a hospital together. The unconventional yet close-knit family bonds over summers at the beach, wedding line dances, and a shared obsession with the Red Sox.

A new perspective
Revisado: 10-20-19
Thank you, Tim Murphy. I lived through this war, largely ignoring it and caught up in my own career and early motherhood. But, this book made me understand so much more about the people and the country, and the impact poor foreign policy has on everyone. I loved that the main characters were so smart and legitimately stuck to the desire to survive. Surviving sometimes means letting go of careers, family, and emotions. Beautifully done. The narration was phenomenal and I looked forward to turning on the book so I could hear the two readers.

Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she's thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office.

I am a scientist, but at the end of my college career I took a creative writing course. I remember sitting in that class thinking “God these students are brilliant. I could never write like they do. I’m so glad that I’m scientist”. Since then I’ve been wondering what happened to those students.
Well here’s one now. A funny and touching and authentic writer. Thank you Gail Honeyman for this book.
Anyone who loves people just as they are and sees the world aglow with silver linings will love this book.

Great story
Revisado: 09-24-15
I loved this book & I am hard to please when it comes to fiction. It's worth noting that the author is one of the Game Of Thrones screenwriters.
Even tho I saw the ending coming, it was still very emotionally touching.
